We are happy to announce that Michael Crawford the toy industries best known reviewer has reviewed our Sam and Max statue. Mr. Crawford seems to like what he sees and gave us a very favorable review that can be seen in full here. Below are some highlights.


“The sculpting is very similar to the original concept sketches that Symbiote showed almost a year ago. The scale between the characters is pretty good, and since the size of Max to Sam tends to vary at times even in the comics and games, it just has to be close to be accurate enough. The sculpt is generally smooth, and the pieces are all made from a polystone, not vinyl or plastic.”

“At $75, this large statue is easily the most expensive item Symbiote has produced so far. This is a big statue, and is going to take up a ton of space on the shelf. Considering the low production run AND the small size of Symbiote Studios, I’m pretty amazed that they got it out for this price. It just goes to show that...

The packaging looks well done foam wise but, as you said cant protect against random variables. So far no reply from SS but.. ill give it a few days.”

“Just got this in the mail today from http://www.symbiotestudios.com. I’ve been a big Sam and Max fan since the older PC game came out and I recently ordered this.


First impressions : It shipped quickly and they actually followed my instructions I left in the comment box since it was being shipped to Canada. Not being nailed by absurd customs fees is always a good start, since I’m still pissed off from Take 2’s online store screwing up my order of $20 worth of Bioshock stuff ($23 in fees??).


The statue came in pieces, which I guess you glue together? I’m somewhat new to comic statue collecting (got around a dozen) so I’ve never dealt with one that wasn’t fully assembled before. For the purposes of the pictures, I put it together, but you can kinda see it’s not finished.
