Last gaming week of the year. Also I'm going to throw in my xmas pick ups since my last post only went through the 24th. I actually got a lot more then expected, my parents spent around $1k between me and my sister and i felt bad since didn't have that much money for them....

Xmas pickups:
The biggest thing of all.... they bought me a Kinect. I actually wanted one but now that I have it I have the dilemma of actually buying a game for it. I don't want to add to my backlog till I beat games, but I also don't want it to just sit there. My girlfriend is going to buy Dance Central I think, but otherwise.... yeah.
They also grabbed me Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition and Super Street Fighter IV which I just wanted to replace my regular ...

Another week of not too much gaming thanks to it being the week before xmas. Holiday shopping didn't really get in the way because I was "finished" since I ran out of money last week. But just family stuff and crazy times at work led to me not really doing anything. Spent more time with Final Fantasy XII which is still awesome, except I am at a point where I need to level grind a bit so that I stop dying all the time. Actually I should probably just buy some new weapons...

Last week I mainly played: Final Fantasy XII. I also played: Blue Dragon.

Played Blue Dragon for an hour.... Made it to some boss and couldn't beat him. Kept trying for an hour and then called it quits. Reminds me of the good times I've been having in FF12. But the again Blue Dragon probably won't get played again for another long time. Also since I didn't make any real progress cycling through my backlog we can tally the games that might be out at around 43. I need to...

Should of posted this yesterday but what are you going to do. Another week of pre xmas craziness which leads to me playing less games then I want. I'm so into FF 12 that it doesn't really matter though. Well except for when I got to a boss that I didn't have the magic to beat, so had to reload a save from an hour previous to buy said magic then make my way back to him. Good stuff. It was really fun after I beat him though. I'm getting more and more anxious till next year when I let myself buy some games, at current pace I'm still going to get rid of 42 games. That's fine I haven't touched them at all this year so maybe I can just sell them and make my money back.

So finished school early, not working any overtime at work and still didn't really find time to play any games. I don't know what the deal was but that's the way that it worked out. Basically just spent a handful of time with Final Fantasy 12 which besides dying and losing like 30 minutes of playtime (a few times now) I can't believe how awesome it is. Not counting Tactics on the GBA I haven't beaten a FF game since I beat 3.. (er... 6) on my SNES back in the day. Got a few games this week... didn't want to but I can't turn down free, so it's just more stuff taking up room in the backlog.

The last time I played Star Ocean was more then a year ago.... I had no idea what was going on but just went along with it. It's cool I probably won't play it again...

So usually every week is work this and work that. Well this week work was not a factor. It was actually a negative by which I mean it was a no overtime week and that makes me sad. Especially with xmas on the horizon. That translated into more time for games though which is sweet. I have trimmed down the amount of games I'm going to get rid of next month. I'd say at the best I still will get rid of 7, and at worst 42. I also finished all of my work in one of my classes so I'm sure that will free up more time for games but will see...

Mario Kart actually took a few days because it seemed like everytime I just needed to come in first or second or whatever, I came in 12th. It pissed me off and I'm glad that it is outta the backlog. Moved onto FF12 which I can't believe I'm getting myself into...

Back for my first full week of gaming in awhile, and well I didn't really get to do much. Another crazy week at work thanks to the combination of being short-handed and it being the week before Thanksgiving. Plus I had school Tuesday night, and I watched the Chargers wreck the Broncos last Monday. So it didn't really leave room for much gaming. I did however play a game out of my backlog for the first time since Reach came out. So hopefully I can cycle through a bit more of them because anything in there that doesn't get played this year i'm getting rid of in January.

Last week I mainly played: Mario Kart Wii. I also played Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, Rockstar Table Tennis, and Left 4 Dead 2.

I'm almost done with Mario Kart. One more sitting (assuming I don't lose any races) and I will be done with it. Table Tennis was just me trying to get some time in with my lonely backlog. At current pace I am getting rid of 46 games...

This is going to be another blog covering two weeks. There honestly won't be much too it because I was sick and then on vacation, but I like keeping these going so that's that. So I got over being sick a few days before I left for Cincinnati. Most of you are probably wondering "why the hell would you go there from California"? The simple answer is I was born there and most of my family lives there. We didn't really do anything special. Got to have a little family reunion one afternoon, went to Kentucky to see some of my mom's relatives I've never met, and I really enjoyed the tour of the Great American Ballpark because I'm really into baseball. Pretty decent trip but I hate to say how much better it is here in San Diego.

I worked a lot again last week (47 hours) and have been sick, but I think I managed to cram in a more gaming then last week. Maybe. Started up Mario Kart again, had already gotten gold in all the 50cc races, so decided that I could just gold every race and then call it a day. Still trying to get those last two achievements in Reach too. I just can't spend enough time earning credits. I beat another iPod game, it was called Gravity Sling. Nothing special just a little game I got for free that involved getting an astronaut to the shuttle while dealing with gravity.

Mario Kart should be somewhat quick, but then after that is 2 RPG's in a row. (Final Fantasy 12 and Super Mario RPG) so I doubt I will even finish them before the end of the year. I'm almost half way to the rank of Captain in reach and would be a lot closer except the other day one of the daily challenges was to get 35 multikills in...

I didn't do much gaming because I had to work 49 hours last week. Idiots... People used to call in sick so much that they started paying us a $100 bonus each month if we didn't call in sick. They got rid of it a few months ago and now everyone calls in sick again. (65 workers.. I'd say at least 1 a day, everyday). So they decide to start hiring at $11/hr instead of $10.50/hr and the new guys don't care/do a bad job/call in sick. I get more overtime which is nice, but also they seem to need ridiculous things on nights when I have plans....

Beat Reach on Legendary finally. Even got a few more achievements but I have 4 more to go still which if I'm lucky I can knock out this week and then move on with my backlog. I haven't touched it in a month now and that makes me sad, and makes getting through it that much harder. I'm at the final boss in Blaster Master but that's easier said then done. The problem I have now is that the video walkthrough I watched makes it look so much easier then it is...

I really enjoyed Reach. I feel like I beat the end on Legendary on accident though. I was just doing my thing shooting down all the banshees and phantoms with the mac gun and I was in line with the cruiser and it destroyed it and that was it. I'm sad that the way my backlog is, and my friend has a baby that we will never get to sink time into multiplayer like we did with 2&3....

I have been super busy the past few weeks so I didn't even get to post a blog last weekend, or yesterday like I normally do. Last weekend I was in Vegas playing some "adult" games. My game of choice is roulette. I didn't get to really gamble that much though because about $300 of pay I thought i was going to get on the 2nd is not coming till my next paycheck on friday. I had a good time though and it worked out. Then yesterday I went to disneyland because the girlfriend has never seen it done up for halloween time and she loves halloween. decided just to buy a new annual pass because of the payment plans they have for so cal residents now. Not a bad deal at all, besides the fact that I don't really have the money for it. :P I didn't really play a lot of games but only because i haven;t had time...

This week I really didn't play any games. I have been so caught up in the Padres pennant race that I haven't done much else. Last weekend I went to both games against the Reds and went again on Wednesday night too. Been spending time watching every other game on tv so games have been pretty much out of the question.

Stuck on the 7th boss in Blaster Master, probably will beat him next time I play it but it's going to continue to be another busy week so I doubt I'll be able to do much. Finished chapter 4 in RE5 with my friend before we played some reach. I've been working on it on Legendary by myself but haven't had time. You get the theme. Only need 9 more achievements though. I'm going to Vegas next weekend so we'll see how the gaming and blogging goes.

Reach is going to start causing problems with my backlog. I can already see it happening. I played Blaster Master a few times and spent the rest of my time getting a bunch of Reach achievements before I restarted the campaign on Legendary. My current goal is to get the 1000gs out of it because it actually seems really easy to me. I hardly ever whore for points like this but it is Halo...

I beat the 6th boss in Blaster Master and then couldn't find the 7th one... In Reach I used that "firefight achievements" gametype to get all of those achievements. Restarted on Legendary and plan on getting the rest of the campaign achievements I need and then I'll figure the rest out as I go along. My backlog and online multiplayer are making this difficult though.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to beat Blaster Master before Reach came out. I knew this was going to happen though. What can I say about Reach besides it's ridiculously awesome. For me I think the single player is better then 3 and ODST, but not as good as the first two. From what I've seen of the multiplayer so far I think it is by far the best. I have only played it a tiny bit because I wanted to beat the campaign before I went online.

I am so glad I bought this. I'm super pissed at myself for being stupid and redeeming the Flaming Helmet code instead of selling it on eBay. That's fine though. What makes me the most excited about this whole thing though is Dr. Halsey's journal. I have yet to read it but I want to read the whole thing.

So I switched my Reach pre order... again. I originally pre ordered it at Gamestop (before Amazon offered the $20 credit). Then moved it to Amazon. Now I moved it to Best Buy. It makes sense though. I got a $50 BB gift card for my birthday. I had $35 in reward zone certificates. BB is now offering a $20 gift card as well. Plus you get 500 reward zone points for pre-ordering/purchasing ($10 coupon) and the purchase itself will net me close to enough points to get another $5 coupon. I want it to be Tuesday so bad... Since school is in full effect gaming has become really slow and will remain that way till school is over in December. I got to play a lot more games last semester but I remembered that there was 2 months when my work didn't even give me 40 hours a week. In an event. I'm not going to beat Blaster Master before Reach so I'm just going to have to put it on hold. That's fine.

I was so used to summer and playing video games all the time. Or before summer when I was going to school and didn't have a girlfriend and played video games all the time. Now I am going to school and the girlfriend is eating into video game time. Working 49.5 hours didn't help this week either but I'm starting to have withdraws. I barely played anything last week....

Yeah I bought a pink one. One of my wiimotes has been acting weird lately, it kept turning itself off with new batteries and would forget it was synced with my Wii. I said f it and just bought a new one the last saturday because of the Target $29.99 sale. Only problem now is is that I might have to return it if I run out of money before getting paid again next Friday....

So let's talk about the games that school has been playing with me. If any of you live in California then you know the budget is terrible and they cut a bunch of money of out community colleges. So I visited a counselor during summer break and we figured out that I only need 5 more classes to finish the networking curriculum, having only just finished general ed in the fall 2009 semester this was awesome news. She tells me to get with the head o the CSIS dept to work out a plan and she doesn't respond to my email. Sent another one next week and get an auto response that she would be out of town till the week before school started. Sent her one when she got back. No response. Sent her another a few days later to which she tells me my situation is like this. 2 of the 5 classes are the last 2 you have to take. One isn't offered this semester and another is only offered in the spring. So I enrolled in the 1 other class. A couple days before school starts I get an email saying the class has...

Spent the week working through single player in Modern Warfare 2, I think I will have it beat when I play it later today. Hopefully. Once that's done I'm going to pick up the re-make of blaster master I saw on the Wii because I freaking loved that game when I was a kid. One of my favorites. I probably still have the NES cartridge if I look hard enough. School starts next week (well it's supposed to but I'm having trouble getting classes, we'll talk about that next week.) so I'm going to have to slow down on the game playing a little.

This week was one of those epic gaming weeks for me. Mainly just because i was able to remove 2 games from my backlog, and I also because I beat God of War which is a freaking awesome game. I had a bit of an anger moment though trying to climb those damn spike towers in hades and well my ps3 controller paid the price a little. Normally when I get mad enough to assault my controllers it feels justified but this time i felt bad, maybe because it was my ps3 and not the xbox. Played some games on the Wii which was weird because I hadn't played it in forever. (I checked, last time I played was in april). The next 2 games should be good times too.

Hello folks. I think I'm close to the end of God of War. I keep asking myself, (besides the obvious answer of never owning a PS2) why did I not play this game sooner? It is freaking awesome. I have noticed though that the HD remake seems to just be an avenue for trophy whores to shore up their trophy count but I really don't have that many anyways, so it's just cool for me to get some gold trophies for what is practically nothing.
