Is it wrong that I'm crushing on an employee?

So, about 8-9 months ago, I noticed at my local game store had this new employee (I think). I thought, "Huh, haven't seen her around", and I knew a lot, if not all, of the employees at this location. From time to time, I walk in, pre-order something, chat it up since a lot of the employees are very knowledgeable on any type of game. Just so recently, I was going through a rough patch in my life. I was set on going to the store, buying a PSN card for Journey, go to lunch with a friend, and going home and playing Journey. I ended up running late to my lunch meeting because I spent so much time talking to this particular employee. It was a chat that went from why I'm picking up Journey to how the world is rearing its ugly side (This was about 3-4 weeks after that horrible Sandy Hook shooting). It seems childish, but that little talk just sparked a bit of interest for me.
2 weeks later, I went back a bit near their closing time because I had a dispute with... |

DayZ Immersion Effect (First Impression)
By Biskmatar100 07-24-2012 02:15 AM

I just played my first day of DayZ. I was really hyped after watching and hearing all the great stuff it had offered. At first, it started slow, gathering resources, finding my friends I was playing with, and wandering around. However, after wandering into an airfield (Yeah, worst place, but the server had only 7 other people in it) and 15 minutes in, I was downed by a sniper, but not dead.
The thing was, after getting into an accident 6 months ago, bleeding out and falling into unconsciousness, I can only feel the same feeling I felt when I got into that accident. Even my friends were panicking, or so I think. :P After getting bandaged and fully replenished, one of my friends went around the corner and was downed. We tried to get to him, but before we did, I got one-shotted and died. And the guy with me panicked (But they got revenged). The feeling was so...real and unreal at the same time. Never had I felt this in any other game. I admit, at first,... |

Video Game Box Condition Anal Retentiveness

Recently, I picked up Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 Innocent Sin for the PSP for $19.99 new. The box looked like someone was throwing it around for a bit or smashed it in between some other games. I got it reluctantly thinking that I wouldn't see it around for too long (With PSP games being eliminated in several Gamestops). Then today, I saw a much better looking copy when walking around the mall. It didn't have the wear that my copy had, so I got it as well. The lady actually brought out a brand-new copy behind the shelf, which pleasantly surprised me. I'm going to return my previous copy soon after obtaining this one. Has this ever happened to you? I remembered picking up a copy of Tales of Symphonia with chocolate milk/powder stains all over the manual and box. Yuck. Thank god I found another copy that was the original black label and in better condition. I know, the age old argument of "It's all about the game" can be brought up here, but when you have a library...

Re-nameable Characters and Their Effect On You
By Biskmatar100 05-12-2012 01:21 AM

Maybe 2 days between a blog is a bit of an overkill, but hey, you write when you're inspired, right? I also apologize if I ramble on and on.
Today, after killing my hands by writing 3 essays in 2 and a half hours, it was definitely time to unwind down. I had an itch to play Final Fantasy VII for a long time, so I grabbed my copy off the shelf and popped it in the PS3. I was ready to once again go on an epic adventure (Or at least start it; I barely got Tifa). However, 10 minutes in, I turned off the game out of regret. Let me begin by stating a common habit I have: if I can, I always rename characters based off of my real-life friends. Childish, I suppose, in the eyes of some, but it's always been a thing I do. However, if I cannot fit any of a friend's trait or connect anything, I'll just keep the default name, but in RPGs, I tend to find something. Of course, I name myself as the main character (Shin Megami Tensei games, especially the Persona series,... |

Introduction and Any Games You Should Buy At Full Price?

Hello, I'm mainly known as Biskmatar100 around numerous sites (I accidentally spelled my CAG name with a capitalized "I", which irks me to no degree). Not exactly a veteran, mainly have been using the site to score some deals, which I thank the community for. I recently have tried contributing and hope to continue to do so!
Anywho, enough about me. This post is actually inspired by the recent Best Buy Deal of the Day for Sin & Punishment: Star Successor. Playing the original Japanese version, if I hadn't played Persona 3 and 4, it would have been my favorite game of 2009. Based on the releases in 2009, it is my favorite game from 2009. I was so impressed by the game; a hardcore challenge, a beautiful art style, and stellar music. It was a great title for people that wished for "hardcore" games on the Wii. I remember trying to promote the game on sites like GameFAQs. For all the talk that I did, I committed one of the biggest crime: not... |
