Peggle: World of Warcraft Edition - The First Step.

By Skambu 07-10-2009 02:22 AM

That's right. It finally happened. Two of the most addictive games ever have joined forces to release an unstoppable beast... that's right. If you go to PopCap now, then you'll be able to download a 10-level pack entitled 'Peggle: World of Warcraft Edition' for the PC version of Peggle, completely free.

After you've played the game, you will have no doubt had a load of fun. But deep in your sub-conscious, you want more. Geniuses like myself have studied for hours on end, and I have concluded that this is PopCap and Blizzards first step in taking over the world. In 2012 (the apparent end of the world, connection?), Blizzard will break away from Activision, and join PopCap to embark on a conquest to take over the world. Soon, they will start creating Internet Cafes in every last corner of the earth. No land mass will go untouched by the godly hand of Blizcap (or Popzard, whatever sounds...

REVIEW - Prince of Persia: The Fallen King (NDS)

Prince of Persia: The Fallen King was released on the same day as it’s console counterpart, entitled ‘Prince of Persia’. The Fallen King is a DS-exclusive title, but almost nobody has heard of it because Ubisoft did a terrible job of advertising it. It’s certainly in the shadow of it’s console counterpart, but why? Because it’s on a handheld? Or is it because of the quality of the game itself? Read on to find out.

Prince of Persia: The Fallen King is a 2D Platformer, it’s not really an action platformer though, it’s more like a Puzzle Platformer. There’s quite a few enemies in the level, but nothing major, just tap them and you’ll attack them. The puzzles are pretty simple, and the real challenge of the game is basically just looking around for different areas in the level so you can find stuff to help you through...

REVIEW - Call of Duty: World at War (NDS)

Call of Duty: World at War (NDS) is the second COD game developed for the DS. Obviously, unlike Modern Warfare, World at War is set in World War II. So, is it worth buying, or should you just stick to COD4?

Call of Duty: World at War boasts LOADS of gameplay modes, there’s so much to do in the game, it’ll keep you interested for a long time. There’s FPS levels, Tank levels, Mortar sections, Turret parts, Plane levels, Anti-Air levels where you’re on a boat, and there’s a couple more too. A few of them were hard as hell, like the Anti-Air Boat parts, and the Tank levels, but they were all still pretty fun, and gave you a break from the sometimes monotonous FPS levels.

Altogether there’s 26 levels in the Campaign, and they usually take 3 or 4 tries each to pass each level, well at least for me. So, that’s...

REVIEW - Power Stone Collection (PSP)

By Skambu 05-08-2009 08:02 AM
For more content like this, visit Level257.

Power Stone Collection (PSP), is pretty much a compilation of the 3D Arena-Fighters, Power Stone and Power Stone 2, into one game. I could be a jerk and just say it’s a simple port, but it does have loads of nice extras which could make it worth checking out.

The Start Screen gives you a choice between playing Power Stone, playing Power Stone 2, or to view the Collection Features. I started off playing the original Power Stone first, because that makes far more sense then playing them in reverse order, right?

From the moment I turned on the game, I immediately noticed how lifeless the announcer sounded. I don’t know whether it was on purpose or not, but it really doesn’t get me pumped to play. When you first start the game, you have 8 characters to choose from. The available characters are...

REVIEW - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (NDS)

By Skambu 04-27-2009 07:03 AM

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed received pretty mixed reviews on every console, with the DS version being the lowest rated out of them all. Well, you’d think that it’d be absolutely horrible, right?

Well, it’s not HORRIBLE, but it’s not earth-shatteringly amazing either. When you first start up the game, it doesn’t appear to have very many options, and to be quite frank… there isn’t. Extras? My ass! All you can do in there is view the Credits, and enter Cheat Codes. Then there’s Single Player Mode, and Multiplayer Mode. To start off with, I’ll focus on the Single Player aspect.

From what I’ve seen so far, the story for the Force Unleashed is decent, but not incredible. In the first level you play as Darth Vader. At the end of the level you find a young child who apparently is ‘force-strong’. Before the Second Mission, the kid grows up and we find out...

REVIEW - Monster Lab (NDS)

By Skambu 04-23-2009 04:09 AM

Monster Lab (NDS) - Official Site
Monster Lab (NDS) - MetaCritic

Monster Lab is a game that’s rarely talked about. But why? Certainly not because it’s a bad game, because it isn’t. The most likely reason would be how underhyped it is. I actually didn’t even know the game was coming out until it well… you know, came out.

If I had to compare Monster Lab to another game, then it has a similar idea to Pokemon. Except it’s far more customizable, and it has robots. GODDAMN ROBOTS! It sounds awesome already, right? Well yeah, it is. Just like Pokemon, you can have many different robots at one time, but I almost exclusively used my main robot. Though you can only have a single robot out on the world map at once. If that robot dies, you restart the game from the last time you saved. Also, you can only ever save the game at your Lab, so you should save often....

REVIEW - Peggle: Dual Shot (NDS)

By Skambu 04-18-2009 08:26 AM

Peggle and Peggle Nights are 2 of the most celebrated PC games of all time. Peggle: Dual Shot (NDS) features both of the games on one cartridge, but with many extra features and even a few new levels. Peggle is one of Popcap's most successful games ever, so it's only natural that Dual Shot would become one of the best DS games ever... RIGHT?

The mechanics of Peggle are really simple, but are surprisingly hard to master. It's a game that literally anybody can play. You play on a board with a lot of 'pegs' on it. There's 5 different colors of pegs too, they're blue, purple, green, yellow and red.

BLUE - Give you a small amount of points.
PURPLE - Give you a Large point bonus.
GREEN - You get a Special Power (space blast, multi-ball, triple score etc.)
RED - You need to get all of these to finish a level.
YELLOW - This only becomes available after you...

REVIEW - Moon (NDS)

By Skambu 04-16-2009 01:39 PM

Recently, there ’s been a huge influx of First-person shooters for the DS. This particular game was developed by Renegade Kid, the same company that made the great horror survival shooter, Dementium: The Ward (also for the DS). The publisher is Mastiff Mastiff, the same company that published Major League Eating, and Easter Bunny’s Big Day. Err… yeah, Mastiff aren’t exactly known for quality. Luckily, Moon breaks the trend of sucking major ass, and delivers on being one of the best FPS titles the DS has to offer!

The story isn’t exactly movie material, but it’s good enough for a game. It’s set in the future, where the Government has research bases on the moon where they learn stuff about… the Moon, I guess. You play as Major Kane, whose the leader of a group of people working on one of the Research bases. Your team finds a mysterious hatch, then you’re sent in...

REVIEW - Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (NDS)

By Skambu 04-14-2009 10:36 AM

When Rockstar Games first announced Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS, everybody was looking forward to it, even with the lack of details at the time. Almost every week, more screens, trailers and details were being released which did their job - keeping people interested. But despite all of the build-up surrounding Chinatown Wars, there was always a chance of it being terrible. Luckily for everybody, it isn’t.

In Chinatown Wars, you play as Huang Lee. Huang goes to Liberty City to give his Uncle a sword that Huangs father gave to him just before being assassinated. Huang takes a plane to Liberty City to give his Uncle the sword, but just as he lands his bodyguards are assassinated, his car crashes into the sea, he gets shot in the head and the sword is stolen. Huang then swims to shore and he has to find his own way around the city after...
