I actually forgot I hadn't posted this yet...better late than never!


I found this at TRU and thought it'd look great on my gaming shelves. I'm pretty happy with it. I took him out of the box already, he's on the top shelf with Sonic.


I couldn't NOT get this. I didn't even know it existed. So many hours of my early childhood went in to playing this on PC.


I figured this was a good time to use a $20 best buy gift card!

Well, this sucks. My launch 60gb PS3 just died. Red blinking light. It happens a few moments ago while I was watching my brand new Wreck It Ralph blu-ray (seems Ralph wrecked my PS3, lol).

This is extremely deflating. I've had this thing since launch, and played the hell out of it. I can't even fully understand that I don't have a working PS3 right now.

I know the system is dead. I understand I now need to buy a new console. But what's even more devestating than that is the loss of all of my data. Every game I've played, every save file from this console generation in terms of PS3 titles is on that hard drive. Is there any possible way to recover all of that data? Can the hard drive be put into another PS3? And if so, does it need to be another 60gb launch console?

Also, my new Wreck It Ralph blu ray is in that console. Is there any way to get it out?...

Anybody else frustrated with the expensive of the vita? Sony asks essentially $400 to start their handheld ($250 for console, $100 for largest memory card (needed), and $50 for one game.

I have found myself in the market for a new Vita. I do have one Vita game, but there are many I'd like to play. Problem is, the console is, essentially, over half the likely price of a PS4. I missed the Black Friday deal, the only non murderous price the vita has ever been, and I don't want to do Cowboom for several reasons: the descriptions using the word "dents", the fact that they are all used so they likely have fingerprints (OCD, I refuse to spend atrocious amounts of money on things with disgusting, unwashed facial oil fingerprints all over them), and the fact that its prior to e3 (extremely unlikely but possible price drop).

That leaves one alternative: ebay. I want a an auction with a picture of a fingerprintless vita, a minimum 16gb memory card, and at least...

I'm a bit late on this blog, but I'm quite pleased with what I grabbed in January.


Most of this is from the GameStop GC clearance. The two games without covers are Harvest Moon and Mystic Heroes. The Kao game for PS2 was supposed to be a GC version, but I was allowed to keep this copy when received it by mistake. BKO is from ebay, everything else is from the gamestop sale. I'm quite thrilled with how I made out on this sale. I filled some holes in my library and I was able to add some notable games for far below market value. Can't go wrong!


Halo 2600! I've been meaning to get this for a long time now, I'm thrilled that I finally did. This an absolute must for major Halo fans...

A slow month after a pick-up heavy November. Slow, but quite nice.


The LE of DJ Mac Technika Tune. Those who have this will know: THIS is how a collector's edition should be done. Not just a tiny artbook and a steelbook. This is a very creative and actually a "special edition". I highly recommend it.



I picked up one of these for each of my Portal guns when they hit the $10 mark. They are nice....but too big for my shelf. Oh well, lol.

Starting off with my biggest pickup of the month...


Pre-ordered through GameStop the day pre-orders opened. I am absolutely thrilled with this console. It's a completely fresh experience, the graphics are gorgeous and in my opinion, it really feels "next gen". It's brand new, it doesn't feel rehashed at all. I highly, highly, highly recommend this console. New Super Mario Bros U and the Pro Controller are also from GS.


These were my first two pickups to arrive this month. Both are from Newegg with the $12 off pre-orders promo. Newegg is definitely getting my vote for retailer of the year...

Quite a slow month for me in terms of pick-ups, but here we go!

Also this month, my 20th anniversary Megazord finally came in! I only have a picture of it in the box so far. I'd wanted to had it opened up by now, but I can't decide where I want to put it. I don't want to open it until I figure that out because it has a lot of small pieces and I don't want anything getting lost. Anyway...

I'm even surprised at the amount of game channels I subscribe to. But I'll commonly find myself trying to decide what to watch on TV, and just end up streaming something from one of these channels on my TV via PS3....

Some of you already know i'm a Chicago Bulls season ticket holder. Each year, the Bulls host an event called the Sixth Man Jam for season ticket holders before the preseason begins. Basically, it works like this:

• The Bulls players, head coach, announcers, and team ambassadors (Scottie Pippen, Bob Love, Randy Brown) are around the three levels of the United Center concourse at tables. Each table has a UC attendant with 500 tickets. The first 500 fans to each table get one item autographed from the person at that table. Nobody is guaranteed an autograph.
• Fans can take a shot from the Chicago Bulls court.
• Fans can take a picture from the Bulls bench and/or opponents bench
• Fans can take a picture with the Luvabulls (the cheerleaders) at center court
• Fans can take a picture in the Kettle One Club (restaurant/bar club in the United Center basement) with the team's six championship trophies.
• Food at the concession stand is drastically reduced in price (soda $1, pizza

I kicked off the month with the GameStop Coke code and the Best Buy DOTD for Kid Icarus. I had a copy of KI already, but it was cart only. I ordered a new copy from BBY for in store pick up. Then, I ordered One piece for in store pick up at GS. I went and picked up the new copy of Kid Icarus, then headed over to GS. I traded in the cart only copy towards One Piece. The 50% trade-in promo was going on at the time so that, plus my PUR trade in 10% and buying used 10% off, and of course the $10 off used Coke code...I ended up paying less than $9 for One Piece out of pocket. The month was off to a great start!


Next up were some GG games....

My buddies and I play in a dynasty league on ESPN. This was our fourth season, and last season I won my first championship. I won again this year, being the first owner to go back-to-back in our league. After several years of making trades and whatnot, I have a pretty stacked team. I finished 4th in the regular season (ten team H2H league, top 6 make the playoffs, top two have first round byes).

I'm feeling pretty good about my August haul. Here we go...

First off, I picked up an original Megazord, which i'd been wanting to grab for quite some time but I waited for one at a decent price. I already had one, but I havn't been able to find two of the zords for the life of me so I got this as a replacement.


Next, I was lucky enough to grab a KH Mark of Mastery edition from Amazon. I have to say, I really like this game. It plays very much like the original KH1 and KH2.


Another Power Ranger pick up, the Extreme Super Legends MMPR Green Ranger. This is a very nice figure. If you can find one, I highly recommend it. It fits in quite well on display with collectible figures and statues.


I was lucky...

Slow pick-up month for me, but still got some good stuff. First off, the P-Body portal gun. Already had a Chell and i've got an Atlas on pre-order. I was considering ordering the stands, but I think i'm going to try and build (or if I fail, hire somebody to build) a custom case for all three.


Next, picked up this slick Sonic figure from TRU. It's a really cool figure and looks great on the shelf. Sorry, seems like I failed to take pictures of everything unboxed this month.


And finally, grabbed SSX from the GameFly sale.



Like I said, slow pick up week. But got a big one in the Portal gun, a really cool figure, and a great deal on a good game so I'm happy. More to come next month!

Until now, I hadn't encountered the Jesus Bynum glitch. The funny thing is that when it finally happened, I wasn't even playing against the Lakers. I was playing Memphis. And it wasn't Bynum. I actually don't remember who this was off hand, but i'm pretty sure it's either Mike Conley or Hasheem Thabeet. And look, he took the time to put his warm ups back on before standing in the middle of the court for half the game. In the Bynum glitch videos, that's something i've never seen happen before. Anyway, I thought this was pretty funny so I thought I would pass it along.

Finally got a 3DS! Yeah, I know 3DSXL. But honestly, I prefer the smaller size so that wasn't much of an issue. With GS offering a free copy of Steeldiver, I decided it was time to bite.


One of the coolest shirts i've ever seen. $5 at walmart. It's a Chicago Bulls shirt that for no reason at all features Spiderman doing nothing that has anything to do with the Bulls, the NBA, or basketball in general. Completely random and I love it.


From the Go Hastings sale on used books, I picked up some guides i've been meaning to get.

This program is SO frustrating.

I'm regretting ordering DS cases to house my handheld games. Photoshop is one of the most frustrating pieces of equipment that I have ever attempted. I just need to rant about it. It clearly takes a very long time to learn and I am (a fault, I know) an extremely impatient person when it comes to learning new things. I want, no need, it to come easy for me, or the frustration takes over. Kind of strange it's not like that for me for video games, work, and some other things now that I think about it.

But for something like this, it's enraging. I am quickly learning that Photoshop is something that is not learned overnight, and that is quite frustrating for a person like me. If only Microsoft Paint didn't make things beyond pixelated and stretched if you increase the size. Perhaps the most frustrating part is having nobody to teach me. Perhaps the fact that i'm trying to use the magic lasso with a touch pad because my mouse is god knows where isn't helping either. Perhaps its...
