Kinda funny Mass Effect 2 Glitch
By PlumeNoir 03-24-2010 09:14 PM

Remember that bad Three's Company spinoff? No, not The Ropers, because Stanley kicked ass. I mean the other one - Three's a Crowd. Yeah, it wasn't really worth remembering.
The only reason it came to mind was because of a funny glitch I encountered on Mass Effect 2 tonight. I'm not quite sure what happened; I was loading an autosave, and then it asked me to choose a party. I didn't think I had stopped at the very start of a mission, but I choose Garrus and Grunt for no reason. Instead of loading up on a planet, I was back in the galaxy, flying my ship around. I exited out to try to figure out what was going on... Only to find I had visitors... "Um...Garrus? What are you doing in the CIC? This is a bit awkward...and why are you on my perch when I'm trying to mack on Kelly?" I turned to the left... "Oh, you brought Grunt with you. That explains the smell. We keep you in the cargo hold for a reason,... |

My experience being The One in 1vs100
By PlumeNoir 01-12-2010 11:43 PM

Tonight, I finally made it to The One in 1 vs 100 on XBL. I love trvia games and play 1 vs 100 a lot. I also play with a lot of cool people (including some of the best players in the game). I played all through the Season 1 beta, and made the Mob many times (even winning a few games), but never was the One.
This season, the rules were changed, limiting how many times a player could be in the Mob. I made it the second week, and blew a question - knocking me out for the rest of the season. I kept playing, maxing out my Level 50 cap and getting all the achievements. I like playing, but decided I was going to focus on making it all the way to be the One. I was selected in the second round (this first one based on weekly score); I knew I'd be the One, though - I had a score of over 2.1 million for the week (from Saturday to Tuesday). But, when I saw that screen come up saying I was the One, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. The first two questions I instant-answered... |

Sketch Dump
By PlumeNoir 12-31-2009 08:02 PM

I just had my 8 gig flash drive fail on me, so I'm recovering some of my sketches form it. Since I haven't done a QSCC post in a while, I figured I throw some of them up here (since most of them were done at work anyway). People who follow me on Twitter have probably seen them already, oh well. Here are a few I have recovered from the drive, in no particular order. (My QSCC rules were still followed...)
Here's a Batman I did while on the phone at work. I spend a lot of time on the phone as you may have guessed, and I was on hold a LONG time. One thing to note, as I said on twitter, there are certain characters I never draw - Batman is one of them. Some characters are just too "iconic" to me and I never feel like I can do them "justice." If that makes any sense... I showed Batman to my son, and he was upset there was no Robin. I didn't know he was such a Robin fan, so I had to do one. (Tim Drake's Robin costume without... |

Gamer Impressions of a Non-Gamer's Impressions of A Boy and his Blob |
|
I loved the original Boy and his Blob, so I was keeping an eye on the new Wii version (partially in hopes the original would make it the Virtual Console).
What I did not expect was how much Pixie enjoyed the game, as well, and how excited she became when I told her of the Wii-make. She pretty much only enjoys playing the old-school games, so when she asked for the game, I couldn’t say no. Although I picked this up release day, it stayed in its case until today. We both had fond memories of the original NES version, despite its difficulty, but we held off until I was starting to shake the nasty flu bug I picked up last week before giving the game a try. This isn’t so much a review of the game, as it is an insight into how a non-gamer, armed only with her memories of the original, approached the game. Before I start into impressions, I need to first share something about how the two of us see the game…differently. The concept... |

From Doodle to Sketch
By PlumeNoir 07-20-2009 10:35 PM

|
Most peole know I love to doodle; I consider myself "doodler" more than anything else. Today, why I was waiting for something to finish at work, I scribbled this, without thinking, on a Post-It. (I added the dimensions for reference.)
I decided to try something. I'd use that Batgirl doodle as the basis for a sketch. Mostly, so I can see what something looked like before it was finished, if that makes sense. Plus, I have a lot of bad drawing habits that I'm trying to work out. So, when I got home, I grabbed a piece of paper put down the framework. I changed the angle, so it was more of a jump than a looking-down kick. Looking back, I kinda regret that; the original pose had more energy and movement. I have the left arm more toward the back, because of the rope I plan to add in. I haven't decided what to do with the right arm yet, but I want it outstreched, but not as far back, for the symentry. Hammering down... |

Experimenting with Inks
By PlumeNoir 07-14-2009 10:22 PM

I saw WhipSmartBanky's Catwoman he drew and inked and asked if he wouldn't mind if I gave it a shot at finishing inks.
(His original can be viewed here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=9517 ) With his blessing, I tried my hand at it. Here's what I came up with. (Again, this is WSB's drawing, I just added too much black): (Because I still think CAG's albums pixelate, here is a bigger Imageshack link: http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8...dplinkfull.jpg Maybe one of these days, I'll actually use my DeviantArt page instead...) Honestly, I have been wanting to do this a while; inking over someone else's work, that is. When I ink over my own pencils, I tend to hide my weak spots. Plus, I wanted to see if I could compliment someone else's style. So I printed his pic out, and inked over it by hand. I did run into a small technical issue: my crappy Canon printer dropped some of the fine lines. I... |

CAG 2.0: What Could Have Been and Almost Was |
|
With the beta of CAG 2.0’s latest features slowly leaking out across CheapAssGamer, the Black Feather Labs (BFL) crack team has been scrambling trying to get as much info regarding the latest updates, beyond what has been announced. Why? They didn’t really have much else to do, really. They get off on this sort of thing – especially Steven.
Using a combination of research, hacking, social engineering and arcane sorcery, BFL discovered many features that were cut from CAG 2.0. While no explanation of why they were dropped (or, at least postponed, we hope), one can probably guess the reasoning. The following is what - The Insta-Fame Attention Grabber Are you new to CAG? Maybe you’ve been around, but just haven’t been given your due recognition by The Powers That Be. It’s a well-known fact that CheapyD regularly searches CAG (as well as the rest of the internet) for the slightest mention of his name. This abandoned... |

Can you see this?
By PlumeNoir 07-26-2008 02:07 PM

![]() If you can see the above pic, then you can do something that Pepsi and Yahoo cannot do. As you can see, in the latest Pepsi/ Yahoo contest, www.oldschoolornew.com, I won a pair of Adidas Performance shoes - not a bad prize. You may notice that I won over a month ago; I never received the email with the code to redeem at Adidas's website. "Check your spam filter," everyone said. Well, I did; I only have one email from the IRS in there. So, around July 10th, I called the contest hotline and they told me I'd get my email the following week. I waited just over a week and called again on the 18th. The CSR told me they had no record of my win. She said she'd email her supervisor about it.I waited another week and called again, now that a full month had passed. Nope, there was still no record of any wins on my account, even though (as... |
