Got 1ucky this afternoon. and the todd1er/pre-schoo1er took near1y a 3 hour nap. did some shadow hearts, defeated the boss of the do11 house. (I a1so rea1ize that I wont be ab1e to 1eve1 up shania's statues enough to do her sidequest w/o much grinding).

a1so p1ayed jak 3. It's an okay game, but I on1y picked it up because it was $7 and I never finished the first two so I'm sort of 1ost story wise. but it's a decent p1atformer. I don't know if I wi11 ever finish it, though. so it seems 1ike wasted time.

Megaman zx for DS.

Never even my life have I been able to beat a megaman game. A few boss robots sure, but never the whole game.

Yet with this game I can make it through the stage and beat the boss on my first try?

I'm not getting better, the games are getting easier.

I had really ment to update this everynight based on what I played the day before. I'm really slacking. Too many kids appts, and I was semi-sick one day last week.

Yesterday I played
Castlevania -portrait of ruin. Defeated death (about the only way I can ever defeat any castlevania boss is by using at least 4 to 5 potions each time. I always have to stock up to full before the fight)
Fire emblem - finished a couple skirmish battles before chapter 18
Resident evil 4 wii - finished chapter 1 of ada's separate ways.
paper mario thousand year - started hooktail's castle.
went to bed.

So last night I played Lego star wars 2 for about 30 minutes. I've finished all the story episodes. Just need to complete all the free play. I give the game about 2-3 more weeks until I get bored with that. There's just not enough in the bonuses to really hold my interest.

Also played Shadow hearts some more. Spent about 15 minutes collecting cat coints then when I went to trade them in realized I had collected the wrong type. Delightfull. I just want to finish this game and get it overwith.

I spent about an hour last weekend pulling weeds form the front yard. It's a pretty good sign you're lower middle class.
It's where your education level wouldnt let you take a job pulling weeds full time. But it also isn't enough to get you a job making enough to pay someone to do this for you.

I tremendously enjoyed the first two shadow hearts game. Making it through the third one, is sort of like pulling teeth.
The characters are no longer unique, they're just 'weird for weirds sake'.
The battle system and stock seem to make this game 2 to 3 times harder than the previous entries.

Doing the sidequests now. Because, as I've learned from the previous two games the final boss is next to impossible -unless- you've done all the optional quests that are unlocked at the end of the game.

Doing the final UMA hunt. Annoying. had to print out something from gamefaqs to keep track of where to place all the bait. And the enemies in this area make every battle a 'finish with low hp, then heal' affair.
Shouldn't I be over-leveled and be able to mop the floor with everything like in FF, DQ and other games of this ilk?

Also played DQ8 last night. Spent about 45 minutes metal slime hunting while waiting for my timbrel of tension to finish.

Then took the godbird staff and used it to break his shield. Sort of an interesting twist to the battle, where you can't actually 'fight' the boss.

At this point it was about 1:45 so after unblocking his shield, let him defeat me.

Now may main concern is that I won't be able to beat him tonight, and I'll have to spend another week or so leveling up.
I really want to finish this game so I can move on to my other rpgs.

Played psychonauts for about an hour last night. Really fun game. It's personality and great sense of humor makes you overlook it's less desirable qualities. (Poor camera, hard to control inventory, etc).

The lung fish level is great, and there's one area in the disco/levitation lady that has been one of the most distrubing thing I've ever encountered in a game.

I had to use a cheat code to get max arrowheads in order to buy the cobweb duster. (Roadblock puzzles are always bad. No one wants to be taken out of the game to collect x number of items before you can go forward).

Puzzle Quest is one of the few DS games I cannot start playing before I go to bed. 20 minutes easily turns into an hour. Why? It's just bejewled! There's just something addictive about this game, maybe it's the basic D&D look about it. I go to sleep and see 4 and 5 in a row matches lining up in my head.

Played custom robo for the DS for about 20 minutes while brother was napping. Something inherently creepy/disturbing about playing a game where I'm a 10 (?) year old boy. I won the school championship and visited my dad at work! Now it's another day, and I dont remember where to go. Why am I so compelled to put time into these $9 circuit city semi-crap games?

Played dq8 last night. Am picking up the spirit sages 'orbs' en route to the last battle w/ the big bad. Put 72 hours into this game and have been playing it for well over a year. Eager to get it finished. It's been enjoyable (once the early to middle level-grinding stages). I don't see myself putting in the extra tiime for the bonus dungeon after the game's over. Have too little time and too much of a back log.

Playing through fire emblem sacred stones on my DS phat. This is my second or 3rd attempt. Gave up once halfway on Ephriam's path. Am finally making progress on Erika's path. Finally made it to chapter 16. Unfortunatly lost seth and artur who I had just promoted. Will not be going back to that chapter, spending an hour playing through it just to keep those two alive. It took me 4 or 5 tries just to make it through and only losing those 2 at the last final turns.
This is a game for perfectionists and masochists.

This is my first post. I think I'm mostly going to use this blog to comment on what I played the night before, what progress I made, and what my opinion of the game was.
