Hi CAG. <3 I've been here for awhile. To those of you that don't know me... Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is MarkMan and I like video games.



I'm lucky enough to work in the gaming industry and work closely with like-minded people in a number of projects. Though I may work for one company, that doesn't mean I don't work with several others. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that I am deeply involved with a lot of stuff that goes on in the background... But of course, as you may have noticed... I have a special place in my heart for fighting games and the competitive gaming community.

Hi, it's been awhile since I've posted a blog here on CAG. Hope you are all well. I'm fine, it's the usual. Busy with work during the week and events/meetings during the weekends. Always looking to do more for the industry/community I'm in.

That said, I've been playing a TON of Mortal Kombat recently. I'm training for the MK9 National Tournament in Las Vegas next month (May 14-15). I haven't tried MK9 online yet, but I figure I'll try it out on Xbox Live later today... Well cause, you can't do shit on PSN right now.

So, that leads me to ask. What are you guys using to play MK (peripheral wise)? I've been trying to be best friends with the PDP Fight Stick, as you have to use it for the Vegas tournament. I've been practicing primarily on it....

I had a crazy past 2 days. I left San Diego around 9 AM on Friday morning... Had to go from the office to downtown Los Angeles for a meeting with a potential new client. Meeting went really well. Translation = more good shit.

Stopped by a few import shops and game stores for lunch. Went to a popular spot off Venice. So many Street Fighter players there, as soon as I got in I was greeted with "HEY MARKMAN!" and then got some extra copies of Super SFIV for my pals.



Then met up with Princess Aura and started helping her out with her hair... Then went to the launch party for Super SFIV!



Played vs Daigo for the first match of the night on stream....

Man, what the hell am I doing. I started a thread on another popular gaming forum and looking back at it already, it's pretty pathetic lol.

I'll just vent in there. Anywho. What is everyone up to? My birthday is this month... I'm getting... old. But life is getting better...

More stress. More responsibility. Just more.

Real talk. Last game I played was Yakuza 3. I have NO time for games :( !

Anywho. I've been a bit busy (lol) as of late. I recently attended West Coast Warzone 2 in Long Beach and Anime Conji in San Diego. Here are some pics <3 !

I went to some tournament last week and came home with this sign...

PAX East was great!



I had a great time hanging around and supporting the events there.

Mad Catz sponsored the Rock Band 2 competition and the Street Fighter IV tournament held by PAX East. There was also a surprise appearance from Super Street Fighter IV in the console freeplay room! My good friend Seth Killian from Capcom was also there so we can share/spread the SSFIV love.



I went to the SFX-360 Gamers Gone Wild VIP party on Saturday night. My good friend Princess Aura entered the Rock Band 2 tournament with a killer team of Uzman, StarSlay3r (Star from PSN's The Tester), and SWooZiE from WCG's Ultimate Gamer fame. She showed her gaming skills by killing it on the mic and wowing the crowd with her awesome vocals. They ended up taking first place without a problem!

Fun times ahead... So much to do... so little time...



At the end of February I was lucky enough to attend the first Level|Up series event: Project Blocks! It was a TEKKEN 6/Street Fighter IV event and was tons of fun! Check out all the pics from the event here.



Just the other week I was in Tokyo Japan to assist Bandai Namco Games with the TEKKEN 6 Global Championship FINAL! I have a LOT to say, but I don't have the words right now as I am exhausted from work/life. So check out this little clip put together by NBGI Europe!

Saturday is God's Garden II, Japan's biggest console Street Fighter IV event. Most of the top players will be there, looking forward to it! Gonna bring a bunch of arcade sticks to support the event!

Sunday is the TEKKEN 6 Global Championships FINAL! Hori will have a booth there and I should get some hands on time with their RAP Premium VLX (Vewlix) series. Can't wait to check it out!

Both events will have live streams!
