WotLK Trailor Impression.

So I finally go around to watching the Wrath of the Lich King trailer today. I had originally planned to wait until I was installing the game onto my PC to watch it, however that's not really a good idea since practically every podcast I listened to this weekend went into detail and gave there thoughts about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiP8fAZ4lZk My thoughts? It looks freaking amazing and got my lore nerd blood pumping. That's pretty much all I have to say about it. Everyone else seems to be saying that it's a good trailer but it does nothing to get you excited for the game unless you're a lore buff and know who Arthas is. I've noticed this, but I don't really care for the following reasons; There's already enough stuff to draw people into WoW. The pop culture aspect of it, the merchandise, the 10,000,000+ players, the content already out, coverage of the game, etc. There's already plenty of things to... |

What's the beef with Army of Two?
By Aku 08-05-2008 05:24 AM

Anyone mind explaining to me what the main problem is with Army of Two that everyone seems to have? I rented it this weekend and actually enjoyed it.
Though I believe this is due to two reasons, not paying attention to hype and playing it with my buddy in co-op. I'm not saying this game is the best thing ever but for the reason I rented it, to play some co-op, I had a blast. Actually half way tempted to buy it, would not pay more then 40 bucks for it though. Could it be that I avoided the hype? I remember reading about some of the amazing things they planned to do with this game but, maybe because I'm jaded, but I'm use to the big promises not happening. Besides, not everything they originally planned made sense. Anyone remember the tampon and run to the light mini game? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV6I4dId1Go |

Geometry Wars 2: Now with 50% more mind warping! |
|
Let's get one thing clear before I start posting my impressions of this game. I'm not, nor was I ever was, a huge fan of Geometry Wars at all. That's not to say I hate it, I loved the old throw back to the classic arcade space shooters, I just never "got it". I'd constantly hear of people listening to there favorite music or podcasts and just zoning out while playing it. I've tried both podcasts and music and for some reason it never seemed to work for me.
Geometry Wars 2 on the other hand, does that. I've just spent two and a half hours plowing through it and have had the most fun I've ever had out of an XBLA title since Pac-Man championship edition. The visuals, the music, new enemies and power-ups, and the new game modes all come together to make this game exciting and trance inducing. This game benefit's the most from the fact that you can pick it up and get into the action immediately, unlike GW:RE1 which had a period of time where everything was... |

Canada sucks for text messeging. |
|
I love technology. So naturally you would think I love cellphones to right? Well, the phones I like, it's just the carriers that can be a pain in the butt. Take example my on going experience with my new one.
Our contract was nearly up and instead of settling for one of the lower end ones and complaining about how bad it is and being jealous of my friend with all of her smart phones, I decided it's time I kick things up a notch and get myself a phone I actually want for once. I ended up going with a wine red Blackjack II (And on a side note, other then a few random hiccups all phones give I love it) and getting a unlimited data and text plan. You know, to put that QWERTY keyboard to us. Flash forward to our first bill. Over 400 bucks! "What could be the source of this!?" I wondered, checking the bill over. After some digging and a phonecall I found out the problem. Seems unlimited messeging doesn't cover Canada, as it's considered International. So all... |

Heading back into Animal Crossing and missing Wisp |
|
So with the announcement of Animal Crossing for the wii (Was I surprised? No. Happy to hear it? Yes) I decided to pick up one of my old versions of AC Just for laughs.
This reminds me of a neat feature the GC version had that was, unfortunately, removed from the DS version. For those unfamiliar with the Animal Crossing series, if you leave the game alone for a long time, say a few months for example, the whole town falls into ruins. No, not the apocalyptic version with the town turned into dust and your best friend found in the ashes blaming Nook, I'm talking about the "Family friendly" version of being in ruins; weeds. Your town will be covered with them! Wild World took this one step further and had Rafflesias that would appear if left alone long enough. This means that if you come back after an extended period of time, like I did, you have a lot of work on your plate to get things back the way they should be. The Gamecube had a convenient way to work around it... |

Aku's Reviews: Iron Man The Game. |
|
To start my blog I'll borrow a post I made on another blog and add a value factor to it. I'll see how this format does and if I like it I'll run with it, otherwise it's back to the drawing board!
The best super hero games are the ones that let you live out the dream of being said super hero. Iron Man nailed that on the head perfectly, it just seems that Mr. Starks life is repetitive and boring. If this game did one thing right it's actually being Iron Man in the sense that you're a walking and flying one man army. The game is played in a style similar to most Mech games, in that you're placed in a town or giant canyon and are given objectives to complete. Most of them being to destroy or protect building X or take out enemy Y with optional objectives to keep you busy and drive us achievement junkies up a wall. Unfortunately for making the game feel like Iron Man they did an awful job on animation and graphics. While the game looks good, especially... |

It's finally here, hurray!

Well after a long time of promising CAG 2.0 is finally here, and I've gotta say I'm impressed. The look, feel, navigation of the site has all improved plus we have blogs now.
Hopefully, after the community has time to adjust and more people post, it'll be easy to get price opinions from fellow CAGs, which is one thing I think the game review industry is seriously lacking. I'd love to see some price suggestions, much like Wombat mentioned in a CAGcast, on games since I can think of several "Good" games, but only half of them are worth buying at the price now, while some are only good as rentals. Expect new posts with opions, price recommendations, and posting about my pile of shame as time goes by. |
