Star Trek is now out on DVD. Go get it!

By GuilewasNK 11-17-2009 03:40 PM

I am a huge fan of all things Trek, and this movie kicked Romulan ass. Even if you don't know jack about Star Trek, this movie has something to offer almost everyone.

Want to see a really big ass chair? Here you go!

The chair is 20 feet tall and 8 feet across. Figured I'd snap a pic while I was out and about.

Finally broke 10,000 gamerscore.

Got an achievement on KOF XII to put me over.

Yeah, I know a lot of people have way more than that, but considering I work almost 60 hours a week and have little free time, and I don't boost, it is satisfying. I haven't completed 1000/1000 on any game yet. I have over 1000 on Halo 3 (thanks to DLC) and I have over 700 on NBA 2K9. I think the only other game I have over 500 on is Soul Calibur IV. I downloaded a lot of arcade games and have 200/200 on Pac Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man CE and Galaga.

Most disc games I really don't have the desire to complete to 1000 just because the effort to get some obscure achievements isn't worth it or its too hard.

Well, we made up for our lack of snow this year...

This is from this morning....Collinsville, VA.

First snowfall of the winter season for me.

By GuilewasNK 12-06-2008 05:01 PM
I know it isn't technically winter, but you know what I mean. It's just a dusting, and it is only covering some grass, but I love the snow and I'm glad we have a little. Living in Collinsville, VA means that snow can be hit or miss. That used to be a large wooded area until this summer when they cut most of it down.

Remember when I thought I'd never see $1.99 gas again? Well its down to $1.49 now.

By GuilewasNK 11-30-2008 01:04 PM
I really don't see how it could go much further down, but you never know.

At any rate, I still don't see people rushing to get this cheap gas. I really think people have made changes in their habits and are sticking to them.

However, that is exactly what I have in my locale. I was on the way back fro my bank run this morning and filled my F-150 up for the first time in a long time. I was almost out of fuel and it cost me $48.84 to fill it completely.

One thing I noticed is that depsite the lower cost, there aren't any more people than usual filling up. I'm sure part of that is due to the economy, but I think people are used to not driving as much as they did in the past.

I was always thrifty while driving anyway though. I only have 39,000 miles on my truck and I bought it in 2003.

Election Day is here!

By GuilewasNK 11-04-2008 01:08 PM
Well, I voted and I hope that if any of you want to vote do so as well. Vote for who you think is best, don't be pressured into voting for someone you don't want to vote for.

I live in a small community so voting this morning was quick and painless for me. Hopefully no one else will have any horror stories of long waits, technology issues or anything else that discouraged them. Of course, if you don't want to vote, that is your right, but at least keep an open mind in the future.

Joe Biden will be at the college I work at tomorrow.

By GuilewasNK 10-23-2008 05:27 PM
We have already had a visit from Barack Obama and now Biden. It's nice that they have taken the time to visit us. Our county is small but has hit harder by unemployment than almost any other place in the US.

Andrea Kramer sounds like she REALLY likes Tom Brady.

It might just be me, but I think she's into him.

Barack Obama visted our area today!

I work at PHCC and they held the event in the Motorsports complex. The best part is that my sister was able to get a ticket and was able to get pictures and she even got him to sign a picture of her son, my nephew. The best part is that my nephew's name is Barak!

Some of you may not realize it, but Martinsville has the highest unemployment rate in the state of Virginia at 11.4% (one of the highest in the country). It was really awesome to see the community get excited for his visit as this area needs as much attention as it can get.

Working on a Freaking Sunday.

By GuilewasNK 08-03-2008 02:28 PM
Taking a break now...

Man, I am so backed up with work that I had to go in today so I won't be overwhelmed Monday. I'm grateful for having a job, but this is getting ridiculous now. It's gotten to the point that I have been working 6 or 7 days a week for a while now and we haven't even got to our busy period yet. I think I am going to have to find another job soon (provided they don't get rid of me first) because this stress just isn't worth it and I'm just not satisfied with the job I have done lately. I just don't have the time to get all the tasks done that are asked of me anymore.

Back from Chicago. Thank God.

By GuilewasNK 07-28-2008 12:10 PM
Don't get me wrong, Chicago is cool, but being away for a week of training and not being to go out and do much kind of sucks.

I did get to eat at some decent places though. PF Chang's was good and I really liked the Flat Top Grill.

At any rate, I have a mountain of work to deal with so I probably shouldn't even be typing in this blog now.

But I'm doing it anyway.

Look at your bank transaction receipts.

By GuilewasNK 07-11-2008 11:23 AM
Well, you've read about my Paypal situation. I just avoided another with Bank of America. I went inside to deposit my check and after I got my receipt I noticed the account number was different. Some how the check number was read as my checking account number in the system and was set to deposit it to that. Just so happened I noticed it before I left and I saved myself some headaches this weekend. The teller corrected it and all should be good. If nothing else, this will push me to direct deposit finally.

Who's the SOB that needed to use my Paypal for Gaia Online?

By GuilewasNK 07-07-2008 09:44 AM
Now, I am vaguely familiar with Gaia, but WTF man?

I decided to check my e-mail this morning. I hadn't checked it over the holiday. I had an e-mail from Paypal saying something about possible unauthorized charges and that my account is frozen. I go to the paypal site, and sure enough it is legit. I begin changing the info they ask and now I just have to wait until they mail some info to me to confirm my location (phone confirmation didn't work). The good thing is that the $40 charge is on hold.
