Metacritic Score Comparison of All Major Consoles Since 2000

Almost a year ago, I was looking at Metacritic scores for Xbox 360 games. I was taken aback by how few games scored above or equal to 80 on the 360. So I went on a quest to decide if there have always been that few good games on consoles or if the 360 was much worse than most people say. It's been almost a year since I wrote these words. New games have been released, I have a 360, and I found out my data was wrong. (Overzealous copy and pasting) I want to be sure to get it right this time. I have double checked this data to be 100% accurate as of December 14, 2009. The way Metacritic counts games is different than an exact count, though, if a game doesn't get reviewed enough it is ignored. I used this procedure for all consoles, so it's a benefit for all of them. I know Metacritic scores aren't the only thing one should look at for a game's quality. I love Endless Ocean, but some critics weren't so kind to the game. Reviewers loved God of War,... |

What's Wrong With Wii and How to Fix It - Part Two

A continuation of my first post on the issue. I wouldn't make it in two parts, but what I wrote was too big for one post.
Games Shovelware Wii Sports clones are making boatloads of money. Why? There's a need for more casual games that Nintendo isn't filling. This wouldn't be a problem if the games third parties were making weren't complete shit. Nintendo needs to make sure games on their system are quality, and give incentives to do so. If a casual game compilation is the same or better quality of Wii Sports, let them use Miis, for example. Alternatively, Nintendo could compete with the shovelware by making what the people want themselves. I don't mind casual games, but I do mind shitty games. Lack of Hardcore Games Where's Pikmin 3? At least Pikmin 3 is being developed. Where's F-Zero? Where's a real Zelda? (TP was a Gamcube game until Nintendo decided they like money more than not screwing over their fans) I don’t expect a new Zelda so soon,... |

What's Wrong With Wii and How to Fix It - Part One |
|
As much as I love the Wii, there are many problems with it that Nintendo has no decent excuse for. I think having all of the problems in one place will make it an easy reference for anybody, troll or otherwise, who wants to point out flaws in Wii. I have reached the character limit for one post, (10000 characters) so this is going to have to be in multiple parts. Sorry!
Storage Yes, storage. This is what most complaints with Wii fall under, and I'll address all of them. One, if I download a few WiiWare games, create a save file for Elebits and Super Smash Bros Brawl, among other games, and I want to download another WiiWare game, what do I do? Okay, look for a WiiWare game I no longer play that much and copy it to the SD card and delete it. I might not even need to copy it to SD if I'm okay with redownloading it from the Wii Shop. Doesn't sound so bad, right? Nobody can have unlimited storage space. Copying Games to and From SD Card Here's some tests... |

I will always love the Gamecube |
|
Get ready for another console backstory. Unlike Wii, I have ALWAYS loved my little box of joy. The reasoning? I didn't get it with launch, and I have an extremely high ratio of GREAT games to games on GC. My GC story isn't that interesting, so I'm focusing more on the games that make the Gamecube AWESOME. Next blog post I promise I'll go back to reviewing VC/WW games.
2003. I had just entered the third grade. It was around this time of August, when I bought my Gamecube. As a side note, it was with my own money! I was so proud! ing Zelda Collector's Edition/$50 price cut. Almost ALL of my friends got their GC for Christmas in 2003, and all... |

How I Learned to Love the Wii

I'm not your average CAG. I'm too young to drive or have a job. I'm still in school. The Nintendo Revolution was announced when I was in fourth grade. I was on vacation and my brother noticed the article in USA Today and showed me. I was very exited for it.
When we got back from vacation I cut out the article and hung it in my room and read it many times after. Since then I saved a very large portion of the money I earned or recieved as gifts for the eventual release of the Revolution. I wanted to get it the day it came out, as Nintendo's previous console, Gamecube, was very enjoyable and an overall good system.I was PUMPED. That was also around the time I started using the Internet more often, and looked for every Revolution news piece I could find. I made many lists of games I wanted to download on the virtual console. After months of anticipation, launch day finally came, and I was number 22 in line at Wal*Mart. That night was a great night... |
