New PC

Uploaded a few images to my album of the new build. The computer was largely completed weeks ago, but the cooler I wanted, H100i, did not work properly and needed a replacement. The replacement arrived last week and the installation went well. The new system is quiet and cool!

First PC built

So I put my PC together over the weekend and it runs great...for the most part. I went with the H100i as my cooler and it does not work as expected. While it does keep the CPU cool, running around 32/33C, the pump does not light-up and does not control the fans like it should; I plugged the fans into the motherboard. Turns out a lot of people have had this issue with this thing, though when I was researching it I mostly saw good things about this cooler. I did find some suggestions online regarding firmware and software upgrades that need to be done in a specific order, so I will try those and see how it goes.

First PC build

I have had the urge to build a PC for many years, but I have always bought pre-built, because I always found really good deals. Over the years I have done many component upgrades/replacements and the desire to build from scratch has persisted. Around the first of this year I decided to finally do it and have been gathering parts and finally ordered the remaining parts today. Here are the parts I have (or are awaiting delivery:

The SSD listed was the closest to the one I ordered, everything else is listed correctly. Fortunately my total was significantly less and I was able to use about $500 worth of rewards cards I saved from my employer - also have about $100 in rebates to collect.

I cannot wait until the final parts arrive so I can assemble this thing! Should be running by next weekend.
