Faliure to Lunch -or- Why Am I In a line at Midnight? -or- The Reapers are Coming |
![]() I worked through Lunch again Skyrim arrived from Gamefly Today It's on my desk, the desk with all the daunting work For weeks, every time I tried to pre-order Mass Effect I would get side tracked. Surely, I can wait. There is plenty to play. I work till ten. I take the long way to the train. The long way that involves passing by a Gamestop. Ten-thirty. There are 1 Million things I can do with my time. And I choose to wait in line. I pre-pay 63 bucks for a retail release. Everyone was perfectly nice. Had I brought my 3DS, PSP, or god forbid, a book, I could chill for 2 hours. I had non of these things. It was a rough morning. I felt like shit. At 11, I have second thoughts. I ask one of 15 employees if I can just leave. Can i come back... |

I ran through Assassins Creed over x-mas. It took 2 days. Add another 2 for feathers and Subject 16. Curently playing Boarderlands, Hulk, Ben 10, and Kingdom For Keiflings. Oh, and Williams Pinball! Kingdom and Pinball, so good.
I recently took advantage of that Gamestop fiasco that was the trade 4-get 20$. Not to mention the trade x game and get 20$. When I say took advantage, I mean hours of calculation in trading them utter shit for money. I unloaded so many copies of Disney Sing-It, it's not funny. So, I look at my bank account today, and I'm in the hole for 400+ dollars. I dig through the muck to find a returned check from a Canadian spouse, currently in Canadia. Seem that the Canadian bank changed their check standards, and totally did not honor the check, even though there was plenty of money. So here I am, trying to get the banks to communicate, and clear me of this gigantic debt, which is overdraft charges on 20 cups of coffee. ... |

Gordon Freeman's Airboat Challenge Unleashed Frenzy the Gathering 2 |
|
The Force Unleashed lasted all of 3 days, and that is not a bad thing. Traversing a 60$ game in 3 sessions can hurt (Ghost Busters, Batman), but when you pick a game up for 9.99, it's just right. Finally a Star Wars game where I don't need to wrap a rope around the feet of an AT-AT! You can only do that so many times. While the level design was a bit confusing and the controls a bit loose, they actually let you use the Force. The force abilities made the game extremely fun.
I had picked up a copy Of Fuzion Frenzy 2 on Goozex with the intention of playing it exclusively for Gamer Points. Torture was not my first thought when I went to the local CEX to purchase a second copy. I gifted the game to a friend, to play me online. I've never seen a game make people this pissed off, including myself. The mini-games are almost passable, but the forced cut-scenes and awful announcer induce violence in the most calmest of souls. With force completed I tossed in another titular... |

Blood Magic |

I had a very specific gaming goal this weekend, and that was to put to bed the monster that was Dragon Age. Dragon Age is a game that would of taken me forever if I was still living with my girlfriend. Due to the financial obligations of paying for a 1 bedroom apt all by myself, I can't but AAA titles on release anymore. I have been sucked into Gamefly, and the habit of ripping through them as quickly as possible.
70 hours of Dragon Age. I've played Balder's Gate, and Mass Effect, but I didn't know exactly what I was in for. Had it not been for my love affair with Fallout 3, I would of been completely lost. Micromanaging was something I was never good at. I did OK, just kept my head down and made it through. I don't understand peoples gripes about the boring graphics, I found them enjoyable. I rolled a Human Mage. I was into the story until the got to the Dwarfs, then I skipped absolutely everything I could. It was a great distraction. My only beef was getting... |
