CheapyD in Saints Row 3

I recently won a charity auction to voice a small role in Saints Row 3. I don't really know much about it, other than it cost me $1,725, I'll have about 200 lines of dialog, and the proceeds of the auction go to the family of Ashley Ames. Big thanks to Volition for making this happen!

Longtime CAGs and fans of the CAGcast already know I'm a huge fan of the Saints Row series. Hell, when it came time to choose our Favorite Games of 2008, I selected Saints Row 2. I really hope Volition lets me work in "big ass chains" somewhere; the greatest name for a multiplayer mode in the history of gaming.

Thanks to Kotaku and the official Saints Row website for giving my victory some public attention.

GameStop may want it, but they don't want it badly enough to give you an extra $20.

Review: Singularity (Xbox 360)

By CheapyD 07-07-2010 09:48 AM

I’m not embarrassed to admit that I enjoy shooting video game enemies in the face. In fact, one of few things I enjoy more is shooting them in the face in slow motion. If my enemies’ heads happen to come off during the process, that’s an extra bonus. Singularity, a first-person shooter from Raven Software, features both of these enhancements to regular face-shooting.

I found the story in Singularity to be pretty good for an FPS, which means I understood the plot and was interested in seeing how it concluded. You play as Renko, a Black-Ops soldier investigating a disturbance at Katorga-12, an abandoned Russian science facility. The Russians had discovered (and were experimenting on) a new powerful element, E-99, which they believed would help them conquer the United States. Something goes wrong during these experiments, causing disturbances in the time-space continuum and the mutation of humans into monsters. Obviously, you will be shooting these guys...

CAG Ads and Giveaways - The CheapyD Method

By CheapyD 05-11-2010 06:34 PM
As I mentioned in my brief CAG 7 year anniversary post, I do consider myself very lucky. Not only do I have an awesome job owning and running Cheap Ass Gamer, but I've been even luckier that I've been able to have to make a great living doing something that is almost always fun and enjoyable. And when things are going well, being your own boss provides a level of freedom and satisfaction that can't be matched.

Those of you who are paying attention (and not running ad blocking software) may have noticed a lot of GameStop ads running recently. If you've REALLY been paying attention, you've noticed that these ad campaigns are almost always accompanied by a giveaway. For example, last month CAG gave away 10 x $200 gift cards to coincide with GameStop's Game Days campaign.

At its core, CAG is a community website and it's no secret that the community is providing almost all of the content here. That is part of the reason why, when I am able to land an advertising...
