Cryamore: A first class take on the Action RPG Genre (Kickstarter Campaign)

(Apologies for the image being too big. I pulled this from Rob's DeviantART page :-#:fridge:)

Cryamore Kickstarter Campaign Link

Hello everyone,
I wanted to post this blog in support of one of my friends who is trying to achieve his dream of creating his first video game. My friend Rob Porter, who is an artist for UDON and has worked on Skull Girls is an avid gamer like the rest of us and lives mostly in the world of nostalgia. He has always wanted to create a game based on his favorites titles like Secret of Mana, Megaman, Zelda, Wild Arms, La Plucelle Tactics, Atellier Series,Brave Fencer Musashi, etc. Cryamore is the game that is making his dream come true. Cryamore will take most of its elements from these games of yesteryear and mold them in to action rpg of epic proportions. This is pretty much the inspiration behind Cryamore is to mold every genre that was Rob's favorite, and put them all in to one game successfully. He hopes that Cryamore can achieve that. I will not delve much in to Cryamore since I want the kickstarter page to do the talking....and obviously, it is way too much to cover in one measely blog post. :-# So hit that link and would love to have you guys/gals learn more about this campaign to create this wonderful game.

The game is also getting some legit hype. D'toid and Indiegames.com have already posted their anticipation of the games.

D'toid
http://www.destructoid.com/cryamore-...f-243270.phtml

Indiegames.com
http://indiegames.com/2013/01/audio_..._and_rpg_.html

So the game has been garnering a good amount of hype.

The game is already at 57% of its Kickstarter goal to $60,000 with some really good kickstarter rewards for contributors. Rob and his team plan taking care of you with anything from LE Kickstarter only figures to original commissioned artwork. I of course contributed for the artwork. Anyway CAG, please check this game out and contribute if you can. They only have one month left to hit their goal and then we can have this amazing game. Heck if they reach their ultimate goal, this game will hit OUYA status.

So please do check it out and I would if you guys can even just post feedback on what you guys think here in the comments section below. The only opinion i ever have valued in video games and life is the community here at CAG. So just let me know what you guys overall think. First Impressions and any constructive criticism is what I am looking for.

Thanks for reading and obviously, thanks for contributing and heck are even just reading about it. :bouncy:

My first ever attempt at making a Joystick

I put the image in spoiler tags because my new camera at the highest quality takes them huge lol.

So this is my frist attempt at dealing with modding a joystick. I have to say its a fairly simple process and its not that intimidating whatsoever. Unscrewing the joystick, disconnecting the quick disconnect and even taking off the artwork wasn't a pain(thanks to the spudger). So the mods are easy. I think the LEDs mods are super tough which i will not attempt because i am no electrician and i have never used a soldering iron before.

anyway, This joystick uses all seitmistu parts. LS 31-01, the clear buttons PS-14-KN 30MM, i put a round restrictor plate on it, and i do like it for street fighter, I hear that you take a LS 40 octo restrictor plate and just drill holes where the screws would be for an LS 32 restrictor plate and you can get a perfect fit. has anyone done this and can confirm this?

I say there is a HUGE difference in feel of the joystick and buttons compared to the stock knock offs. It just feels 100x times better. If you are going to mod, obviously, do this!

Oh yeah the artwork. As many of you on this wonderful sight know who the two lovely ladies are on the artwork. Yes, i am a fan of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier and thought this would be an original idea. I had this commissioned digitally from a artist I met on DA. He is one of the coolest dudes i have met on there. His name is Rob Porter aka Robaato and he is freelance but the dude is still doing big things. So he was offering a set of 3/4 bust commissions called 4rent commissions. The 4RENT commissions are supposed to help him and his lovely wife be able to pay their rent for the last month of their stay in the old apartment and first month in the new apartment. I said what the hey, i get some kick ass artwork and i can help out. So i sent him the idea of putting the commission in to joystick art and he agreed and boom a week later when he pinned my characters on a suggested date, they were finished. Thanks Rob, seriously, i cant stop looking at the artwork. Once i clear my next payment with him, i am going to have him work on another template for me involving Mai.

As for Lami-Label. I hate it. Its messy, too many air bubbles, and its just not fun to work with. I did order one from mame marquee, but i fudged up the cuts so badly on my first run that it was unusable...and that sucks for me because that print was 40 bucks!!!!!:bomb::cold:. But I did find out two things. A good thing and a bad thing for me at least. 1 fed ex did a great job of printing the artwork. Their colors are set perfectly but they have a beat ass laminating machine. the 2nd fed ex location sucks at printing but has an awesome laminating machine that has no air bubbles. So im going to have to print one at one and laminate at the other. The problem is, they are nearly 40 mins away from each other. :bomb:. So i am redoing the label when I get better from the sickness i have right now. Too many blemishes i can't stand to look at.

anyway just want to throw out some thanks to people that helped me
Eastx,Anthema728, Robert Porter,Lizardlick, driph(for creating a page on how to the artowork and idea for the spudger)pinecone attack for putting up a page about how to install with Seimitsu parts)and anyone else who i forgot to name.

Here is a link to Robert's DA page if you want to see a full gallery
http://robaato.deviantart.com/

and here is a link to original image that Robert did for me:
http://integralsmatic.deviantart.com/#/d33m91p

thanks for looking and let me know what you think?

New York City Comic Con Day 3 Recap with pictures(sorry for the late blog)

Hey guys/gals sorry for the blog. I got sick a day after the convention ive had no energy yesterday...

Hey guys/gals sorry for the blog. I got sick a day after the convention ive had no energy yesterday to write the blog and upload the pictures. First off before i get in to my recap, i uploaded the pictures all to my photobucket account to the album or cosplay pictures will be uploaded there. Ill post the sketches and my artwork here. anyway, here it goes.

My day started out the same as the other two days. Went and got breakfest for me and rey and helping him getting prepared to do sketch work and sell for the last day. We only got 2 sketches done the last day which was one for me and one for a gentlemen who wanted a she-hulk. The convention itself seemed pretty busy still but no where near the amount of 140,000 people total from yesterday. i decided to walk around and talk to friends and try to grab last minute sketches. I went and talked to 3 of my new friends in Lisa Lubera,Logan Lee, and Craig Yeung. I spoke to those three for hours the other day and talked to them more. Their artwork is killer and definitely should check them out the next time they do a convention on the east coast. I left my book with Rey to do me Cassandra from Soul Calibur. I left my sketchbook with him and decided to do more more scoping around. I watched a Quake tournament featuring the American Champion Dahang vs Rafa who became the new Quake American National Champion. It was intense. I then went back to the exhibitor room to see if i wanted to buy any figures before i left and i didnt found anything that was looking for. I also tried to get in on MvC 3 but that was a failure too. Lines were still long. I couldnt even try Kinect or the new Captain America Demo.

So I headed back to artists alley to check up on Rey and see if i had enough time to bring the book the Khary(Khary like Atari) Randolph for him to do me Wonder Woman. I spoke with him and Paulo Belfiore who is the agent for all Candence Comic Art talent. Paulo is a very chill guy and I was surprised to see that he remembered me from Baltimore which was the first tim I met him. If you haven't met any of the Cadence guys like Khary,Sean Murphy,Tim Sheeley, Mark A Robinson etc, go check em out. They are legit and dam good artists and great bunch of people. I left the book Khary and then i had to go home. Pretty boring day 3 recap but it was a boring day where everyone was packing up early to go home. Well that ends this convention season with April starting Pittsburgh Comic-Con and then so after. Thanks for reading and Links are below for pictures and gallery.
Sketches done my XBOX 360.
Story behind this. I thought about this weeks ago and thought that the XBOX would be a great piece of canvas to work on. So i got this done by Rafael Alburquerque who draws for Stephen Kings' American Vampire and Ryan Benjamin who does Batman Beyond. They both loved the idea about the 360 and they both knocked it out of the park.

New York City Comic-Con Day 2 Recap(No pictures until after last day)

Day 2 of NYCC was CRAZY HECTIC! The exhibitor room was fully packed. I couldn't even get inside to...

Day 2 of NYCC was CRAZY HECTIC! The exhibitor room was fully packed. I couldn't even get inside to watch a full match of MvC 3 or play the new Mega Man Universe. anyway I arrived at 10 and went to my friend's table to drop him off so much needed fuel for his long day. I hung out at the for about an hour taking some pictures of awesome costumes. I really wanted to see what how the rest of the con was and not just limit myself to Artist Alley. Well my friend Eva and Adam arrived to head in to the dead space known as the Exhibitor Room! Well That was an adventure. Capcom had the place packed.....along with EA letting you play a demo of Dead Space 2. I couldnt play any of them because lines were as long as E3 type lines so i decided to say screw it and head to the merch.

Since NYAF was there, there was a great mixture of anime and comic book merchandise. I didnt really get a chance to peruse the shops since i was being bumped, harassed, and shoved to keep moving. After that I decided to go down to the lower level and see what the NYAF artist alley is like. I have a friend in that level who represents Daxiong. He is a successful chinese artist who is currently working on the Stars Wars comics. I went down there to check out the talent. It was full of art students who just wanted to be there and draw and make a buck. It was awesome to see that they were selling commissions and making new fans. I always like to see that with any artist making an effort. So i looked for Mike and Daxiong but they left the table. So i gave up and we headed back to artist alley. I decided to drop off my new sketch book to a dear friend of my in Jamie Fay. Jamie is a incredible artist and in fact he is the first artist i ever commissioned at NYCC back in 2008. He has since flooded my gallery with some straight up awesome pieces. Ill be posting a sketch he did tomorrow in my wrap up.

After that, i went to go see another favorite dude of mine in Ryan Benjamin. Ryan is just flat out amazing. i've never seen an artist be so motivational and helpful to others. Ryan will sit there, review your portfolio and give up straight up tips and help to aid you in getting better with your stuff. Heck, he motivated a kid to keep going with his work. I felt like he was the black tony robbins lol.I know many artist are like that and Dustin Nguyen is definitely one of them too. Dustin is straight up sick nasty and is always kind to his followers and fans. Anyway, I dropped off something for Ryan to do a sketch and i was off again to look for more things to do. I split from Eva and Adam because Adam wanted to wait and try dead space 2. I made rounds hanging with Jamie and Rich Bernatovech(who is a amazing writer by the way), saw he was finishing up my book...and then took to Tim Shaw. I dont know much about Tim except that i really dug his Baroness Print....but he was offering 20 dollar pencil sketch. I bit on it and he did a sketch in the book. I also went to go see 3 incredible people in Craig Yeung,Logan Lee, and Lisa Luberas. Craig also did a sketch for and me and Lisa talked tons about Vietnam and found out our families had similar paths and in fact lived in the same home town. What a small world usually comes in to play here. Logan Lee is straight up an awesome dude himself. All 3 of them play video games and are truly AVID gamers. They all play WoW and Starcraft II.....but i never met an artist who was so into games in general. I literally sat there for another hour talking about Gears,Black Ops,SSFIV, and Darksiders. THis is why i love Cons because you meet new people and find out you have so much in common with them.

Anyway after that i watched part of the SC II tourney and it was amazing. I watched SC II videos on youtube but never seen it in person. The managing between both players was awesome and way to fast for me to comprehend anything.( i dont play SC II but it was still fun to watch) I also made it a mission throughout the day to get pictures of Cosplayas pictures with my favorite artists. Ill be posting all that in to a album tomorrow night or monday night. I think that was another favorite part of the con was seeing so many kids/teens/adults come up with some awesome costumes. I just still can't get over it. Truly an amazing day.

So this is for the comic book and pop culture and even the gaming community here. So this is my third year going to the New York City Comic Con. I have to tell you that even on day 1 it is a great show. This may be the best show yet with the amount of events and demos that are being shown at the show. As some of you i usually spend most of my time at Artist Alley getting sketch commissions and hanging out with friends who work in the industry and even making new ones. And I did such that. i know many do not know the names who draw or do the art for all the popular marvel/DC/Image/Dark Horse companies..but its what i come for at these cons. I have some sick stuff that will be done by sunday and i can not wait to show it to all of CAG as I hope it will impress all of you or some of you....heck even 1 person to say thats cool, I am happy with. Anyway as Monty Python would say, GET ON WITH IT!

So day started out at 10. I was going to meet my friend Rey Arzeno to go in the show with him. Rey is a great and close friend of mine. He is working with a person named Andrea Grant. G4 ranked her as the 3rd hottest women of the web in their second poll. She is really gorgeous in person. She is there promoting her new book called Minx. Rey is the head artist on the book doing all the penciling, inking, and coloring. The dude is just banana awesome and so is her writing. anyway We entered the show, got our passes, and walked it during professional hours. Well in front of the entrance, Intel had a HUGE set up full of demos from PC games, to GH, to holding SC II and Counter Strike Source tourneys. Intel really out did themselves this time around. So artist alley was in the back of all the Intel stuff. We sat down, had breakfest, he mingled and caught up with his friends and i did the same while getting on sketch lists and talking to artists that i follow on DA and have been able to talk to through DeviantART. I spent a couple hours there and decided to go to the Exhibitors room. That was crazy. Sprint/Microsoft were showing off Kinect,There were HUGE lines for Marvel Vs Capcom 3(was sad that they didnt show of X-23 yet),new Captain America demo was playable, new X-Men( i want to say legends game coming out) The Rep was vague and tight lipped of course but the most i got out of it was that you may be able to create your own hero.

Sega was also there letting people demo Valkyria Chronicles 2 and other games which i didnt have time to try out. After that, found some toys i really wanted but of course were too expensive and then went back to artist alley to do more hanging. That was pretty much it. I did get sketches back but im not posting until Sunday so i hope to impress at least 1 person here haha(WSB im looking at you man! Saw JD today too. He looks like he is killing down there) anyway i know this is long and boring but if any of you decide to go to NYCC, do come! There are some sick panels tomorrow that i may want to catch and one of them is the Robot Chicken panel where Seth Green and Co. will be there to take Q&A and talk about the show. Anyway have a great night or evening.....or morning...

Took me awhile to discover Random. I never knew this artist existed until I heard his song at the end roll in Second Skin. Second Skin(for anyone who havent seen it yet) is a documentary on MMORPGs and how they can shape lives. Its really interesting for a person who doesn't really know what MMOs really entail since i dont play MMOs. Its a good watch. Anyway, at the end roll they played Grow Up which uses Wood Man's theme in MM 2. I do hear people trying to rap to these beats on youtube but nothing as good as Random. I am sure enough many people here know who he is.....but i never knew and now i am addicted. I just picked up his new album Mega Ran 9. Definitely one of the best albums i have heard in the last couple years. Even though its Nerdcore(which there is nothing wrong with that), he gives out some really sick rhymes. anyway MM fans and hip hop fans alike. If you havent heard of Random check him out.

!WOW! thats all I have to say...

I cant express enough thanks to the CAGs that recommended me this game in my previous blog about getting a PS 3. This has to be one of my favorites of all time. It literally gave me all I wanted in a game. Its a complete title from top to bottom..from story to game play to music to even voice acting. Loved every little bit of it. Not many games get my emotions choked up but this one really threw it in a tizzy. Before this game i really couldnt think of a title where I was so much in to the story line as I was in to the game play. Maybe FF 3? What a game. I dont even want to turn it off yet. Just want to keep playing even more! anyway

Definitely one of the best i've played so far. Now on to New Game Plus!!!!!!

So yeah im having trouble deciding if its really worth buying. I own a Wii and a 360 and i couldnt be more happier. BC is not an issue because i still own a Slim PS2 and and a PS1. So i decided to talk to a friend of mine who runs a gamestop. So i ask him if i should get one...and come up with some games that makes it worth it to get a PS3. He even had a tough time coming up with titles besides the ones you keep hearing about ....which are the exlcusive releases. Most of the other games are multi platform and i can get it on the 360 like Tekken 6. The only games i really saw that i wanted to play was Valkyra Chronicles and Cross Edge. So anyway i really want one...but im afraid i might not use it much like i use my other systems. besides being a Blu Ray player...what made you, the new owners go out and buy a PS 3? Are you guys happy or regretting your decision? Are you ps 3 owners having the same kind of trouble thinking about what games there are that would make you buy one? Anyway any stories and thoughts are welcome. I would love to hear them.

i know these HDTVs arent your run of the mill Sony or samsung or even Phillips...but i am dam happy with them. I saw these tvs at Wal-Mart but the picture was off..which was probably due to them splitting 1 signal over 25 tvs. It just feels great to Game in HD. The TVs both perform great, have a ton a options, and the sound quality is superb. they definitley meet their slogan.....at least in my opinion.

So yeah i am going to keep doing these to have something to blog about because i really do not think anyone wants to hear how the mets are playing the come back kids now and that everyone in NYC who called in to the WFAN 660 saying that the mets should deal the core now needs to STFU:bomb:. Who says wright and beltran cant hit in big spots? cant include reyes yet due to that calf injury but 2 straight and hopefully Santana brings us another gem\\:D/ . But i think that kid Lincecum is going to have one heck of a hall of fame career. His stuff was soooooooooooooooooooooooo nasty!.

Anyway enough baseball. Just want to show you comic fans or soul calibur fans or both kinds of fans another commission i got from Eddie Nunez. I asked him to do me a graytone piece of Xianghua.

Ill be doing these once every while.

first off, I love comics and I love Comic Art. Ill be doing one of these blogs every now and then to show off some work that i get or my cousin has gotten through commission requests.

This commission comes from one of the true up and comers. his art is some of the best i ever seen and thats right next to the big boys like Adam Hughes and Brian Stelfreeze.

A little background on how the piece was gotten- My cousin found this insane artwork Jason had done of Kiani from Fathom. A micheal turner creation, It was so amazing he had to commission and he did. My cousin wanted to get Mara Jade from the star wars books. Y'know the ones Timothy Zhan. So the way this piece turned out it looked like Jason poured his heart and soul in to the piece. this is one of the BEST commission pieces i have ever seen. It is a full painting as are most of Jason's pieces. Besides guys like David Yardin, Rafael Alburqurque, Yildiray Cinar, etc...he truly stands out.

Comment and let me know what you guys think. Especially the Star Wars fans.

here is a link to Jason's COmicartfans gallery. this wont disappoint any comic fan.

http://comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=20471

so for you enjoyment...Luke Skywalker's wife

MARA JADE SKYWALKER

This is just a quick entry about a pick up i made today. I don't understand this whole mighty muggs obsession i have been seeing all over CAG but now i can understand them. they are like chibi bobble head like figures but of our favorite characters a la transformers, marvel, star wars, and GI Joe.

well i decided to pick two up today that really caught my eye. i would have bought snake eyes and storm shadow but i couldnt pass up these two.

so can anyone tell me if these are rare and two give a general idea on why these are popular. i like them both and will keep them since they are two of my favorite transformers like everyone else. so please leave a comment and let me in on the know.

till then everyone have a nice day!:bouncy:

So in all this chaotic stuff i bought i will list what's in here

SNES Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen Complete- Got it for 9.00 bucks from a games store in north jersey.

NES Ski Or Die with Manual
NES GOtcha
NES Tengen Rolling Thunder

PS 1
Tobal 2

Xbox 360
Last Remnant
Far Cry 2-(might exchange it for something else)
Sonic Sega Genesis Ultimate Collection
Halo 3
Soul Calibur IV

PS 2
Mark Ecko's Getting up CE for 5 bucks at TRU

Ninty Famicom- bought it off ebay for 30 bucks. Im not going to lie, i bought one becauase of Game Center CX and since i have the NES 2, i might as well have the Japanese one just to collect. Whats cool about this one is that the buttons and mic have been replaced. All im waiting is for the famicom games I ordered. I got Door Door, Star Luster, and Super Xevious for 3 bucks. Not bad.

1c SFIV Chun Li promotion figure from TRU. Got this because TRU employee heard me talking about SF with a friend and decided to sell me one. 1 cent you cant go wrong.

Dell Mini 9 with a Skin i got done from Skin It.
The skin i got done i got from my cousin. He had two commissions done from a Brazillian Artist names Paulo Siquera. He is the cover artist for DC's Birds of Prey and now he is doing pages in the Amazing Spider Man. I commissioned him to do me a Mary Jane and Gwen Stacey piece. I cant wait to show that off. anyway the heroines and villians from left to right are:
Zatanna.Power Girl. Black Canary, Harley Quinn(without the mask),Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. I love it. cant stop looking it at it.

Dell Mini 9 equipped with 1.6 Intel Atom Processor, 1 gb of ram , 8 GB SSD, and WLAN card. Im upgrading it to a 2GB stick and a 32 GB runcore SSD for more space. and chucking in a 16 GB SD Card for external space.

I can see why there is a craze for Netbooks. The thing is light, the atom processor is quick for a small book and it took me only a couple hours to get used to the small keyboard. overall it does the job great, i can surf, type, and watch youtube while not straining my eyes.

anyway enjoy and i hope to see all your entries posted because mine probably pales in to comparison of what you guys have picked up

comments are welcome :D:bouncy:
