Here is the Low Down on SingStar PS2-PS3 Compatibility

Yesterday we got some interesting SingStar news, and today the Official PlayStation Blog gives us the low down on how the SingStar PS2 to PS3 compatibility works:

Quote:

SingStar track compatibility across PS2 & PS3 is enabled via the Disc Swap feature.
The feature has previously been available on SingStar games for both PlayStation 2 and PLAYSTATION 3, but for the first time owners of SingStar for PS3 will be able to play songs from PS2 discs in their collection.
While playing a SingStar PS3 disc, at the song select screen, hit the [select] button to swap discs and play the songs from the inserted disc. The songs are not saved to the hard drive.

It sucks that other SingStar, disc based songs, cannot be saved on your hard drive, but I can see the reason for not letting it do that. Now, I just wish that SingStar would stop creating different volumes and just release the news songs in the SingStar Store.

Gamekyo has the first pictures of Xbox360’s karaoke game LIPS, which is being developed by Japanese studio iNiS. Gamekyo is reporting that it is scheduled to release in November 2008, and it will include “two wireless interactive microphones that react with the player movements and voice”. We will most likely hear more news, about LIPS, during E3.

Question: Will LIPS be better than SINGSTAR?

It looks like Hong Kong is embracing the PSP as an educational tool. They have created a program called "Mobile Learning Platform" which takes advantage of other electronic devices, that inculdes the PSP, and uses them to give students quzzies. Here's what the Playstation Hong Kong site had to say:

"students can use mobile devices including PDA, mobile phones or mobile gaming devices to log in to the mobile learning platform and then test their own knowledge anytime and anywhere."

Now, if they only did this here.
