This year I... Been living in SoCal pretty much all my life and I have never attended Comic Con. This year I decided I should check it out, I took today off from work and left for San Diego about 7am. We didn't hit any traffic and arrived at the convention center at 9am. So far so good right...nope! No chance of finding parking, there were no signs suggesting where to go to park, all you could see was "Lot Full". Since most of the nearby streets are one way streets, it took me about an hour to move away from the convention area to be able to find parking nearby. I was driving around looking and I followed a car that went into a parking complex, as I step in the lady working the lot informs me that they are only accepting customers who have monthly membership passes. Bummed out, I asked her if she knew where I could park, she paused and said...well I'm not supposed to sell tickets but I'll make an exception. Purchased the ticket for $15 parked my car and I was 5min away from the convention center...score!

As I walk in, I notice that there's not many people in costumes as I would have expected, and there's not that big of exhibits as I expected...guess I figured it would be sort of like the old E3...it's not. There's a small part of it that feels like it but that's it.

I mainly attended the show to kill my constant curiosity and to buy some of the exclusive toys, mainly from Hasbro. So I hit the Hasbrotoyshop.com booth and the line is huge, we get to the back of the line and I'm told that I need a ticket from upstairs. We head upstairs, no tickets till 1pm...back downstairs.

To the good stuff...there was a huge Jabba The Hutt statue in the Star Wars/LucasFilm area and there was a group of Princess Leia's in gold bikini's...now not all of them were hot but there was plenty to look at. As I was about to take a pic, they all came down from the Hutt and started splitting up so I didn't catch them.

Stopped by the Marvel booth and there was a guy passing out Stark Industries USB drives in Iron Man gold and red colors. I manged to score 2, they came in a plastic case and advertised Iron Man's release on Blu-Ray and DVD September 30th.

Headed to DC Comics, where there was a pretty big line for signings. I don't really follow comics so I didn't really see much there.

Headed to Sony where they were showcasing Buzz! Quiz TV for the PS3 and DC Universe Online...didn't get a chance to play it but what I manged to see looked pretty awesome. Seems that you can create a character as well as being able to control one of your favorite DC heroes and/or villans.

After I left the Sony booth, it was 12:15 so I decided to head upstairs to try to score a HasbroToyShop.com ticket to purchase some toys. The sign stated that they were going to give tickets away at 1pm, so I figured I made good time...Wrong again :-( When I got there, the line wrapped around the little maze that was setup, and it went all the way outside the door into the scorching sun. Waited out there for what seemed like hours...but it was really 30min. Got my ticket, it stated that I had to get in line between 2-4pm. It was only 1:20 by the time we headed downstairs. We arrive at the HBTS booth and we notice a giagantic gap in the line so I decide to swoop in and claim a spot hoping no one would notice, and no one did, the person behind me was distracted looking at something else. Our cutting in line easily shaved off an hours time, but we still waited an hour to shop. By the time I got the toys that I wanted, we were starving, so we left the convention center to head back to the car to drop off the stuff. I didn't really see anything too interesting so I decided to leave my Camera in the car.

After lunch we headed back to the convention center, walked around the Fox booth and noticed that they had the Bones cast signing autographs. I saw them from a short distance but we weren't allowed to get in line since we didn't have tickets...I asked where I could get one and no one seemed to know.

Walked around some more, purchased a couple more toys, passed by Fox again, saw Keifer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard doing the signing. Stopped by Capcom, they were showcasing SFIV on the arcades, looked pretty slick, next to it was the Behemeth booth, showcasing Castle Crashers, which looked and sounded awesome. I asked the booth guys when it would be releasing, all I got was "end of summer". The stated that the game is done, they've done all they've could, MS has had it for a while and they're just waitng for them to release it.

Moved on to the XBOX Live booth...what a disappointment, about 6 gamestations with demos of Ninja Gaiden II and Too Human, next too it was Konami where I saw the new Konami RockBand wannabee...I think it was called Rock Revolution. There was a guy on drums and a girl on guitar. The drum pad seemed new, it had about 5-7 pads, the guitar on the other hand was a GHIII guitar. The song that was playing was "Given Up" by LinkinPark...it was a master track, wasn't impressed by the game at all, very simplistic graphics, nothing flashy.

A few feet down was a Ghostbusters booth, gotta say I was impressed by the visuals, the game is looking phenomenal, didn't get a chance to play it but it looks damn good from what I saw.

Anyways...like I've mentioned before I'm not good at blogging...so there's my story. In summary, I will not be attending future Comic Cons...the traffic around the convention is horrid, the direction from the traffic police is laughable and the convention gets way too crowded and hot for confort. Also, hardcore nerds need to shower, and fat women need to realize that they don't look hot, whether they are wearing a Supergirl, Tifa, Spider-Woman, or any half naked anime character outfit.

Loving this weeks GameSpot coupon...25% off plus an addtional 10% with Edge card. I was looking for a used copy of Battlefield: Bad Company. I hit up to GS's...no such luck. On my second stop I did find Tomb Raider: Anniversary and RockBand which after coupon and Edge card both totaled at $52.xx after tax. Sweet!

I've held off on RockBand since I don't have the space to buy the set, but I figured I can at least enjoy the guitar parts since I plan on playing it with my GHIII Guitar.

Having him walking/running around the place, means we have to chase him around to make sure he doesn't get into anything that may hurt him or be dangerous to him.

I normally game on late nights but all this stress at work has me calling it a night a lot sooner than expected. I just got Conan from GameFly, also just purchased Lost: Via Domus, and Burnout: Paradise used from GameFly as well. Too bad I have lots of games and no time.
