Though, this oddity in TIVs has happened before with:

* Some guides being $50+ in TIV a while ago
* Fat PS2 getting $200 TIV another while ago
* The current situation

There's clauses in their trade-in agreements that allows them to dump trades for goofy TIVs, which I think they're just late to the party on doing with some of the current people trading in items.
