Anyway, the one really great storyline for the Yankees now is how A-Rod responds to this. Chavez has been awful, too, and with Jeter already out of the lineup, I don't see Joe sitting A-Rod at all. This is a grand opportunity for Rodriguez to even surpass his 2009 postseason, because he can really throw it in the face of all of us haters by dragging the Yankees to the World Series without Jeter.

That WOULD be a great storyline if A-Rod were actually capable of rising to the occasion. It's more likely though that the team just mails in the rest of the series. I'm predicting a 5-1 loss tonight, followed by a unlikely 7-6 loss in Game 3 with the Yanks finally hitting Verlander, but CC having an off night (considering he was incredible in his first two starts, he's due for one). Then, Hughes just gets swallowed up by the moment in Game 4 for an 8-2 loss. With the team playing the way they are, I don't see them winning a game at this point.
