Ya know, the most sickening thing about Jeter's injury is that if the Yankees had been able to hit a freaking ground ball with runners on 2nd and 3rd once in two tries, that 9th inning rally would have won the game and Jeter's injury would have never happened. THIS is why you don't swing for the 3 run homer all the time. You get runs when you can, and you outlast your opponent. I can't imagine that Girardi isn't constantly preaching this to them. The only explanation is that they're way too full of themselves (A-Rod, Swisher, Cano, Granderson) to listen. Just the thought that that 12th inning could have been completely avoided makes my stomach turn.
