Just find a good sized HDD for a decent price on Amazon or Newegg. Swapping out drives on a ps3 is pretty easy, and basically only takes a few button presses and taking out a few screws.

I got a 640GB drive two years ago for $50 on Newegg, much cheaper than buying a new ps3... Especially when it's just for the HDD.
