See, now, I had the opposite experience. I was one of the very first people in my HS who turned in essays that were printed by a computer. And I had to get special permission when I did so - the teachers had it in their minds that that was somehow cheating.
As for the posts that were reported/deleted and ended up getting some people temp banned - I have to say they did have a point or two. OP needs to chill. 18 or 21 or whatever is not all that different from 14 or 16. You'll be saying the same things at 25 and 30 and 40 about your previous self
