When my crew rolled out, the win-trading stopped since we'd PK on sight. I was actually impressed with how well the server could handle the massive lag ball whenever we'd roll into their base (pre-carebear insta-kill turret buff) because my PC could handle it fine and the lag wasn't too bad. It was only removed when people started quitting the game because faction balance was generally pretty bad.
These guys that make faction games need to learn that skill > gear > numbers in that order. I loved SWG for that fact, because a skilled player with the right spec could take on 3-5 people and win. I know because I was one.
