That's to suggest most modern shooters are better than older ones which... honestly, they aren't. Not from a PC perspective. DNF is horrendous compared to Duke 3D, Quake, and Doom. It's just a bad game, period. Lateness doesn't play a factor. Gun limitations are awful, level design is awful, game is only about eight or nine hours long and an hour to two hours of that is just Duke walking around in his casino and strip club. Way too many crappy half-baked HL2-like puzzles. Way too much driving. Regenerating health system is awful/promotes cover shooting... in a Duke Nukem game of all places. Honestly the only good encounter is the final boss where you actually have the space/ability to have a proper strafe shooting FPS fight.
Never mind the fact the humor is bad. I don't mean offensive, I mean just bad. As in not even remotely funny. It's even funnier to sit through the credits and add up the hundreds upon hundreds of people responsible for this abomination while games like Killing Floor take half a dozen or so.
