I don't see this happening. At the time the Wii released the other system were easily well over $350 and the Wii was reasonably priced alternative. Now its the reverse with Nintendo selling the most expensive system to market and the other older systems are going to be the alternative. The demand for the WiiU might initially be there but I don't think its going to sustain that demand. Especially since parents aren't going to spend $350+ so little jimmy can get a new system. For that prince they can get them a 360, Ps3, or even an iPad.

Also seems to me that these hardware shortages are always always PR speak.
