Is this storewide at all Blockbusters or only certain stores? I already bought a bunch of Dollar Tree DVDs, but I will have to check this out regardless.

Just a word of warning. I've been turned down a few times for my movies being in Blockbuster cases. I simply walk out to my car, put them in normal DVD cases, and walk back in.

I just finished watching Cabin in the Woods right now. Wow. I mean wow. I hope it is $19.99 again sometime during the U&S so we can get it for $14.99. I loved the hell out of this film. While watching it, I felt like this movie was made just for me. I can't believe my library had this on DVD and that I got it on release week.

I can't wait to watch it again.

I have a feeling they might be $14.99. That's why I promise to crap myself if we can get them for $4.99. When the BB employee hands me the receipt, I will unload in my trousers.

I love it when the OP on these UaS deals explains literally everything, yet this question pops up no less than three dozen times. It almost gets to a point where I SWEAR it has to be trolls just asking the question to annoy. Anyway, looking forward to this sale again :-)
You're not wrong. The next thing that happens is people saying "as long it's not a DVDr or pornography." And then the next thing that happens is someone saying "Darn it, I was planning on trading in my copy of Teenage Brazilian Bubble Booties 14."

From my experience and others most stores are picky about needing a COMPLETE DVD (art, box)...to "recycle". YMMV on whether the rep accepts/notices regions, scratches, and duplicate dvds.

It seeems like there's a large faction of non OP readers who come into a thread & complain "don't wanna look thru 30+pages to find an answer so I'll ask here instead" & the 1st response links the OP which clearly answers the ? w/i the 1st 5 lines.

That's kinda of a waste, you can generally score most B/R's for $15 @ BB direct or via pm. I look for kmart.com, sears.com, walmart & target. $10 or less for me already saw the B/R for $15.99 a week ago. I'd suggest looking for the obscure combo packs sometimes BB has like 3-4 B/R packs & the only thing missing in the UV or digital copy mainly. They're listed on the site w/o a pic but the store reps just look at it as a B/R & match the BB.com price. Save you're coupons for better deals.

True. I usually stick to $4.99 movies during the U&S promotions. Sometimes I get adventurous and spend $7.99 if it's something I really want. I bought Thor 3D and Captain America 3D for $19.99 each which was unusual for me. This time around there's some more expensive stuff I'll probably buy because I have a shitload of BB credit.

I didn't know I wanted to buy Cabin in the Woods until today. I just watched it for the first time and now I realize it's something I will want to own on bluray and watch over and over again.

It's hard for me to get my Best Buy's to pricematch worth a damn, especially Bestbuy.com. I always get turned down. Where did they have the bluray for $15.99? On bestbuy.com? I wish I would have known I wanted to buy it back then.

I think the Blockbuster sale is nationwide, Judging by the posters on Blu-Ray.com whom are located all over the States.

1. How does this work?

Basically, you bring in a DVD to Customer Service and they will give you a $5 off Blu-Ray coupon. Pretty simple.

2. Can you use it on any Blu-Ray?

Only on Blu-Rays $9.99 and up. Previously, music Blu-Rays have been excluded, but everything else is game.

3. Is there a limit of coupons you can receive?

5 per day seems to be the limit.

4. When does the coupons expire?

Last day of the promotion (8/11).

5. Do multiple disc DVDs = multiple coupons?

No. If you trade in a TV show season boxset = 1 coupon, not 3 or 4.

6. Can I trade in ANY DVD?

Naturally, they won't accept DVD-R/RW's nor will they accept pornos. So, no trading in Wii Like 2 Part 3.

7. Can this be applied to past orders?

No. At most you can do a return/rebuy, but you would have to pay the current price so it may not be worth it.

8. Do I get the coupon back if I return the Blu-Ray I used a coupon on?

YMMV. Rule of thumb, be sure you are content with what you're getting before you use a coupon on it.

9. Do the DVDs I trade have to have the actual artwork and any inserts?

YMMV, but unless you get a real douche at CS, most won't care as long as it's in a case. (Generic DVD case will do)

10. I'm low on DVDs, any suggestions?

Dollar stores and places like Big Lots will occasionally carry $1 DVDs that you can get to trade in to Best Buy. Garage sales work as well if you can find one that is selling DVDs on the cheap.

11. Do coupons stack?

Nope. 1 coupon = 1 Blu-Ray purchase. Of course you can use multiple coupons in one transaction if you are purchasing the same amount of Blus.

This should be added to the OP.

it was on BB.com for 3 days & walmart for a couple days too. You're saying your BB won't match match BB.com? Which stores) are you having problems with?

Nope. I would always get turned down because they were "outlet center" items. At least that outlet center crap is gone now. But just the other day I got turned down trying to buy the BB Deal of the Day on Max Payne 3 and the Max Payne 3 strategy guide. I drove home, ordered online for in-store pickup, and drove back today. That's more reasonable though because it was an "online only" sale.

They only had one 360 copy. I said, "there's only one copy on the shelves and I'm not sure if it is going to show up as in-stock on the website when I get home."

Even if they held the game for me, I didn't know if I'd be able to order it online. They didn't care much about customer service. I ended up ordering the stuff for in-store pickup at another BB store. I live right in the middle of 3 BB stores which are pretty close. I also have 3 other BB stores within reasonable driving distance. At least this happened at one of the further away stores.

Sold! That's a penny more than BB anyway.

I just need an extra $2.99 for shipping costs and buying a bubble mailer. Also, you might need like a gallon of "Goo Gone" to get rid of this umm... "sticker" residue.

Thanks for telling us about this. After reading your post, I went to my nearest BBV (like 9 miles away now instead of 1/10th of a mile away). I ended up buying a few $49 cent and $99 cent DVDs. Now I have at least 10 DVDs to trade in for the upgrade and save sale. At least it's a start.

I also bought the American Reunion bluray for $6.49. I almost bought The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo bluray (daniel craig, fincher version) for $4.99, but it was missing the 2nd disc. I ended up putting it back.

Yes, thank you for mentioning the Blockbuster sale. Although I have plenty of DVDs in my own collection to use for the upcoming U&S, I was able to pick up a copy of The Artist on blu ray for $6.50.

Can anyone explain to me how these things work or link me if there's an official explanation? I have a box of movies in my car I've been getting ready to unload at a place just to get rid of them and if this event might be the better option I may do that. I was looking for quick cash with the first place but if I can get some good Blu-Rays out of it I may just do this but don't know how it works.

Damn, you just need to read up the previous few posts. Plus the OP was updated to include the old FAQ. Do just a little bit of reading at least....

Does anyone know if I can buy from their website and then do a return re-buy with the coupon. I would like to get more foreign films that are not carried at most best buys.
