This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, trade-in values, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.
After searching for a game title, click the
icon to pop-up a window with pricing information.
After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.
Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!
Example: guitar hero 360
You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

I'll preface my remarks by saying my usual 'stomping grounds' for game discussion is a seedy little hole in the internet known as RPG Codex. For unvarnished opinions on most of today's RPGs and other genres you might want to check it out. That said, CAG a is great resource for spotting deals and some discussion on the quality of games on sale but I try to remember I'm sort of a 'guest' here and don't launch into massive diatribes against the current state of the AAA industry as I realize my tastes probably diverge quite a bit. My big problem with games like Oblivion is that they ultimately devolve into E-LARP simulators. There's basically no challenge or limiting circumstances. No choice and consequence, no mutually exclusive character development, etc. While I certainly don't like railroaded and directed experiences it is nice to have a game where the world just isn't some virtual playground where you can roll over everything at almost any level. Moreover, as you note a lot of the locations were hyper generic and repetitive. Not to mention Gamebryo is a horrendous engine to do an ARPG on. I could go on and on but... again... not really the place for it. Suffice to say I think Piranha Bytes (prior to Risen 2 and excluding the poorly designed Gothic 3) did a good job of balancing things and giving people a somewhat 'free roam' approach while still having a directed story that presented challenging obstacles, proper choice and consequence, character development, etc. Risen 2 just got to... ahem... 'mainstream!' |

Maybe it was multiple things. Dunno. Over and gone, I guess.
To me it really cheapens gaining levels and the satisfaction gained from supposedly late-game content. Last edited by Eldredpe; 10-09-2012 at 05:34 PM.. |

Wish I'd never mentioned the bloody M-word now!
I like this thread. A lot. I'd never have even heard about Mooby's RPG Codex background anywhere else, it's a wealth of opinions in one tidy little black book of intelligible forum users. Well, mostly. I've never taken to that Fragalot chap. He's crazygagaloopydoo. |

EDIT: Since I missed earlier today and I feel like asking anyway, has anyone played Babel Rising? And on another note, did anyone get caught up with it and feel as though they need to complain to the makers because it has to do with the current religion their following? |

I guess my general " it, I don't care anymore. I'll just sit over here and eat shit." attitude has turned me into a Panda. Just without the excess weight gain.

Also, DANGEROUSLY CAGGY DEAL TALK:
I noticed that the GreenManGaming 25% off code is valid on XCOM for those of us based NOT in North America. That makes it £22.50 ($34ish?) and comes with a copy of Civilization V. Decent deal. Does anybody know if the XCOM game is region-locked? |

Playing through Sleeping Dogs and this game brought my computer to its knees and I had to knock down the settings. If anyone else is running SLI and has a problem running it here is what I had to do to get it to run smooth with the newest nVidia driver 306.23:

I enjoy them through that arc but I don't get how some people can spend hundreds and hundreds of hours in them. Good for them though, I should be so lucky to get that much enjoyment out of a game. |
