WR Greg Orton - 63 OVR (from Broncos)

Jets get:
QB Ricky Stanzi - 67 OVR (from Chiefs)
4th round pick (from Broncos)

Broncos get:
WR Dexter McCluster - 72 OVR (from Chiefs)
QB Mark Sanchez - 80 OVR (from Jets)

Will post the contract details when I get home (unless someone else does it first). Keep in mind that the Sanchez portion is mostly a salary dump for the Jets, who are right up against the cap and get rid of Sanchez's big ass contract.

Here is the Chiefs perspective -

Although Stanzi has played respectably the past few games I need a QB for the future and Weeden gives me a chance to develop one instead of tanking (not going to happen) or trading a couple of superstars for an established QB or high draft pick. Hopefully it will work out. There is still a lot of risk since his intangible rating isn't very high (72) so it is hard telling how well he'll develop.

Stanzi has to move so that everyone has a QB and he is much better than his over suggests (THP - 86, SAC - 84, MAC - 78, DAC - 71) so he'll be a great backup for Rivers. McCluster is also a weapon who the real life Chiefs have screwed up (they keep switching him from WR to RB and back so it screws up his rating in Madden every year). He's 94 OVR as a returner and was my starting slot WR until I picked up Williams.

If I'm reading the order of moves correctly, has BV traded for and then got rid of two different backup QBs? Not sure why I find that interesting/amusing.

I will have had 5 different QBs on the roster in the span of a week (if you count Stanzi).

I still intend to go with Osweiler, but Sanchez won't kill me if I need to turn to him. Obviously taking on his contract is a big commitment, but I have the space to do it now and it allows me to add McCluster.

Meanwhile the Jets clear the cap space they need and the Chiefs get a competent QB. I'd say this is a win-win-win scenario.

Yeah, just so people know from the Jets perspective. I've already gotten bounce back on contract offers that I don't have the cap room for, so with Rivers coming in my plan has been to cut or dump Sanchez off in a deal. This does that for me, and brings in a decent backup QB as well as a draft pick.
