This does NOT register on Steam (it's SecuROM), but GamersGate today has Dead Rising 2 for $5.

If you have the 15% IGN discount + the BlueCoins reward it comes out to ~$4.05.

Does Mount & Blade Collection for $5.62 (Steamworks, from GMG) make sense if I'm only interested in single-player? Any opinions?

Lots of SP mods for Warband. And even unmoded, Warband is very fun single player.

I've played Warband single player and found it entertaining. I've described it before as sort of a cross between Medieval: Total War and Sid Meier's Pirates! It definitely has the whole "Just one more 'turn'" thing down.

I can't speak for the other two but everyone seems to agree that Warband is the strongest game anyway.

Obviously I haven't put enough hours into gaming if I still have this huge backlog.

Thanks. It looks like the cheapest Warband has been on Steam is $4.99, so to get the first 2 games as well for just an extra $0.63 sound like a great deal. I think I'll be getting it after all... as if my backlog wasn't huge already.

I paid $7.50 a few months back and I've only played...er, 85 hours. Right. No complaint over not getting it cheaper here.

Needless to say, I rather like Mount & Blade, and I've only played single-player.

Thanks, that sounds very tempting. I would buy it right now if only I didn't have endless problems trying to order from GMG. Their support is pretty helpful, but they've already had to fix something in my account 3 times this morning and now it doesn't work again. For those who are having trouble with ordering I suggest to open a support ticket and they will take care of it, at least temporarily.

How is the game? It's completely under my radar and I know nothing of it beyond "zombies".

There's got to be at least a few bucks in making crappy fantasy based indie FPS and calling it Sky Rim.

Quick! To Project Greenlight!

I enjoyed it when I played on 360. Basically you are trying to survive(along with your daughter) at this mall location for 72 hours until rescue arrives. Time actually ticks down as you play, so there is a finite amount of time to complete objectives. As long as you complete the primary objectives in the alotted time you continue in the game. Along the way you will find and rescue other survivors and run across bosses that want to ruin your fun.

Combat is mostly melee based and there is a weapon crafting system to build better weapons for more efficient zombie bashing. I believe it still had the wonky bathroom save setting where you could lose a lot of progress if you didnt hit up the bathroom recently. I think the time restraint aspect didn't sit well with some folks as well. It's a shame Case Zero isn't on PC, it was a good little demo for the game.

For $5 I'd be all over it, but it seems to be a one of those love/hate games.

To go with the free weekend, CS:GO is 33% off ($9.99)

Tomb Raider games are 75% off for the other weekend deal.

Legend - $2.49
Anniversary - $2.49
Underworld - $4.99

A Virus Named Tom is the daily at 50% off ($4.99)

You already have your answer but just to clarify: If you purchase the entire collection with the intent to play single-player then you can skip over Mount & Blade and go straight to Warband as the single-player portion of Warband is a refined version of what's available in vanilla Mount & Blade. (they are basically redundant so go with Warband)

Also of note is that With Fire and Sword actually falls in-between vanilla and Warband despite it coming out after Warband in most territories.

I don't see Napoleonic Wars listed in the collection but that's multi-player only DLC so you can likely ignore it not being included as well.

Like, what if the hundreds or thousands of hours Steam tells you you've played, were like, hours volunteered for the Red Cross.
But then who will save the galaxy from invasion?

After this Halloween sale, this weekend deal is really boring.

Fifty Shades of Sky?

"As you wish, my thane," Lydia purred as she slowly unequipped the Banded Iron Armor. Her place was always in his home, waiting patiently at his bed, his own personal slave; tonight, however, the urge to "burden" her with his "equipment" was too intense. Perhaps it had been the Blessings of Mara he'd received from a priest when he was a boy, or maybe it was his expert skill with the tanning rack that made him such a beautiful, and tortured, man. The only concern on his mind was trying not to take it too far, to not use Unrelenting Force while he worked his magic on her. Gods, if only he was born a Bosmer, he could control this beast within him. He thought maybe it was he who needed the restraints as he tied her to the wheel.

The things the Domakhiin had learned from Christian Greybeard will be put to good use tonight.
