Yeah if your out of the playoffs nothing shows. If your still alive you can practice/progress players. When the offseason comes you can scout during free agency/resigning. There is even a dedicated period of time to just scout before the draft.

Not sure yet since we haven't done it, though I know the first thing is re-signing your own guys, then general FA, then the draft. Not sure if there are other steps.

Can anyone who's done it before provide some more details?
