Was tempted with Need For Speed the Run. $9.
Saw the reviews were bad to mediocre, so decided to pass.

Convince me otherwise? I like arcade racers.

I like arcade racers as well, but I kept hearing things about awful rubberbanding-AI and that's usually a deal breaker for me.

I really like need for speed the run. Its a decent game story is simple. I thought the races were fun and different. Game wasnt to hard. This is coming from a guy who dosent normally play racers

I wanted to give the 360 Cartoon Network Smash Bros game a shot for nostalgic reasons. How is that game sold out already? >.<

Lulz, there isn't even a review available on Metacritic for it (only the 3DS version), thats probably not a good sign. I figured what the hell for $10.

Trying to decide if I should pick up NBA2K12 on 360. I'm f'n terrible at realistic basketball games, but love the NBA Jam/Street arcadey ones. Plus I'm a big basketball fan in general and am really into in the idea of playing as the classic players/teams.

I know this is pretty subjective, but anyone have any thoughts on whether it is worth my picking this up for $10? If there's some sort of trainer or whatever to help me learn how to not be so awful that could be cool, but if not I'm worried I'll be so far over my head that it won't really be much fun.

Thanks

I loved NBA2k12. I borrowed it from a friend, the game is very deep and there's a lot to do. The training is not extremely friendly, but it does the job. You can't select the training exercise you want to do, but you select from a large array (Post Moves, Lay-up/Jump Shots, Defense, etc.) and you practice all of the aspects at once. It's worth 10 bucks, for sure.

Picked up Test Drive: Ferrari. It got pretty bad reviews, but for $10 I'll give it a shot.

I'm going to save the money I'd spend on random games I kinda want to spend it on specific games that I really want. That is the First Law of Black Friday Equivalent Exchange.

I Thought the law was crush those who stand between you and your deal. That and it's the only rule and law.

And seeing people buy RE: ORC...oh you poor misguided fools.

I do want to warn those that are ordering NBA 2K12. Since there was a lockout, 2K didn't have the rookies like Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Jimmer Fredette, or Norris Cole usable to begin with. They are on the disc, but can only be unlocked through a 2K share roster update. 2K has shutdown 2K Share for NBA 2K11 and 2k12, so 2K12 at this point is a glorified version of 2K11. I know this cause I bought 2K12 last week for my bro on Xbox 360 (I already had it for PS3 last year) and when I put it in, I was pissed I couldn't even use last years rookies. Buyer be warned at least until or if 2K ever decides to put up 2K share for this problem.

So basically, everyone avoid 2K12 unless 2k fixes this problem or you have other means (someones xbox360 roster update through a forum, PS3 not possible unless extreme means).

Sorry for getting back so late. Lin is 56 as a reserve for the Warriors, and the rosters are still from the summer of 2011 (Rudy Fernandez on the Mavericks, Chris Paul on the Hornets, Dampierre, Bibby, Ilgauskas on the Heat, sorry for any spelling mistakes) so I went ahead and updated the rosters for Xbox 360 manually with my 8gb usb stick, a program and someone's roster file from a forum on the internet.

As I stated before, the rosters are going to be from the summer of 2011 with no rookies and you can't get into 2K Share to get any 2K roster update, sorry.

Mine didn't have any, because I couldn't get past 2 seconds into the first intro where 5 players are walking in. Just a friendly warning about this title.

Yeah, I knew about the glitch on PS3 since I already had 2K12 during the NBA season, and I fixed the glitch with instructions from the 2K forums many months ago. I have an original 60GB PS3. I'm lucky on PS3 cause I was able to update my rosters before they shutdown 2K share completely.

I'm not so lucky on xbox 360 since I just bought that version as a gift, because even though I downloaded the rosters from a forum, all the rookies had black arms (black like a car not ethnicity) because they're not officially unlocked. I haven't tried unlocking all the legend teams on 360, so I'll keep hope that maybe the arms will go back to normal once I do. No guarantees though.

I believe they shut it down on November 1st without much warning. The least they could have done was keep it up with the last roster update from June. I guess this is their way of making people buy 2K13.

If someone could put a warning anytime 2K12 is on sale, that would be very appreciated and helpful for many people that don't know about this issue and sorry for the lengthy post.

I think I bought this when Best Buy had it for $5.

It's not bad, I mean it works. But it's pretty middle of the road. I traded it in. I'd much rather spend a few bucks more and have a good to great racer I'll keep coming back to.

Well... crap. It didn't even occur to me that I might not be able to get the current roster updates, at least for as of the end of last season. I guess that makes some sense though - I'm sure you're right that it's to push 2K13 over older/cheaper releases and it's unlikely those servers would come back online. The main draw for me on this is the classic players, but that's still disappointing. I'll try updating with a downloaded roster update and see where that gets me. Thanks for the heads up.
