Tried to get Crazycatlady right after this was posted but those two codes got snatched fast.

Already have Summerbatch. I still love my Nancy the Happy Whore game.

Kind of funny. The only reason (I'd imagine) to play a board game on your computer would be for the ability to play online with friends who can't come over to your house to play the real thing. Kind of makes the entire idea useless.

Unless you're just anti-real-life, in which case, score!

EDIT: lol, CAG censored .
Probably because the term as you spelled it is usually used online for race baiting. The less offensive spelling is "snickers" and it gets the same point across.

Oh my gosh, thank you!

I actually had read about the Cat Lady game previously and was thinking it would probably be something I would like.

Just out of curiousity, what's up with it being on Desura? When I click through there it says not available. Is it going to be added there in the future maybe?

I could see it for Monopoly if they offered saved games you can resume. I mean no one I know of can survive more than 3 hrs of a Monopoly game at once .

Me too but the page wouldn't load. I know crazy cat ladies in real life and I want to participate but without all the fur!

Thanks for finding yet another obscure, trashy yet enticing game. I have 7 Sins open in another tab and I keep looking at it but can't bring myself to press the Buy button yet.

I've been playing it for a bit. It's good trashy fun if you have a sense of humor and aren't easily offended.

I don't believe I have ever played a game with mini games where you get points for sneeking a peek at cleavage or peeing on flies.

If nothing else, 7 Sins is unique.

I've always considered snig gers to have a more nasal quality. A bit more air volume from the nostrils, where snickers is mouthier. (I also, for some reason, connote it with the weasels that laugh themselves to death from Roger Rabbit.)

I don't know if most people differentiate between them, however.

Actually, most people don't believe it's a word, from my experience.

So, since I've last checked the topic, the main three subjects have become: Questionable synonyms for the term "laughter," a game that appears to be a combination of The Sims, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, and Postal 2, and a title I'll simply refer to as "NtHW."

Motoki, I'm blaming you for this.

If anyone simply must try it out, there's a one hour free trial you can download on EACap's site.

Um, what is the deal with Steam loading up with old stuff and marking it up at a ridiculous price? Who would pay $10 for this or Tomb Raider Chronicles?

Thanks for this. I finally snagged a $5 promo code and a REALLY cheap copy of Spec Ops. I've had my eye on this because the SP got such amazing press. I hope the PC controls are decent.

Technically the words are interchangeable and supposed to mean the exact same thing.

I don't infer anything racist into it, but the double g spelling is a variant of the original "snicker" spelling and came into origin about 100-200 years afterwards.

Whether it's just an unfortunate variant or purposefully created to mirror the n-word, I don't know, I just don't see the need to use the spelling that can be considered offensive when the original spelling will suffice.

Words are crazy. I called a black guy a "reneger" for going back on his word and I got socked in the face.

Offensive? Crackers are a crispy baked snack, and also a derogatory term for Caucasians, but you don't see anyone upset about a conversation about Ritz. As long as it's obvious which you're referring to (whether it be crackers or mild laughter), I don't see the issue.

And I always saw the word snicker as a sharper, more audible small laugh, while sni gger was a deeper, subtler, "nasty" laugh. Such as... laughing at a game called 7 Sins, and how the cover art is "cheeky".

That said, if anyone is offended by the spelling, I will never use that spelling again. Promise.

To be fair though, there's a big difference between the history of the two words. =P

On the other hand regarding snicker, I couldn't care less which you use, but that might just be me.

Comparing the term "cracker" to the n-word is just not a valid argument to me and this is really not the forum to go into all that. You seemed surprised at that particular spelling being censored. I was just providing insight on why. As I said, technically both terms mean the exact same thing so any differentiation is personal and not rooted in any actual difference in meaning.

Personally, if choosing between either spelling I would go for the one that was sure not to offend anyone, but that's just me. Words like "reneged" "$$$$ardly" etc. are just words. That goes for the n-word as well. So we take offense to what we want to. There are a lot of people online who like to use the second spelling to purposely try to stir things up when it comes to race so I would also avoid it just because I wouldn't want to be associated with any of that.

Finally tried this game after buying it the last time Amazon had it on sale. Figured since more people might be playing this weekend, why not.

The overall description reminds me a lot of Ascendancy, but the game play doesn't really. There were like 50 races in Ascendancy, each with different abilities. And colonization didn't use up your ship. And battles were actual battles, where you had to position your ships and fire.

Endless Space, in comparison, seems so much more shallow, and so much smaller. The large maps in Ascendancy were huge. And each star system wasn't limited to a meager 6 planets.

Ascendancy is one of two games I wish I had an iDevice for, even though I still have the old CD version.

Kinda wish I hadn't bought it, and just played for free for the weekend. Because I'm starting to doubt I'll play it past this weekend.

Don't worry, I understand. I suppose I've just never heard of nor seen anyone use sni ggers in a derogatory way. I guess people will use any way they can to push peoples' buttons.

And I wasn't comparing cracker to the n-word, I was simply commenting on the fact that many racial slurs are in fact normal everyday words (or sound just like them). Hence the silliness towards the word sni ggers.
