Haha... Dammit Moo and your double posts. the Blackhawks, Pens, Avs (from beginning to mid 2000s), and Jay Cutler (err.. wrong sport).

alright it seems like everyone wants to wait til Jan. 1st. That was my original plan but I was afraid that teams that didn't make the playoffs, or were knocked out early, would end up not coming back after not playing for so long. That being said, it seems like everyone here is dedicated to coming back for a second season so Jan. 1st it is!

I blame it on my phone.

I think everyone does need some time away, hopefully it will get people invigorated.

I'm good with starting the first. I think with Christmas and new years starting Jan. first is a better idea than after the playoffs.

Anybody mind if I switch to Chicago? Marian Hossa is my favorite player and I hated being the Canucks cause I cant stand the Sedin twins.

I'm cool with it! I didn't make any trades during the season so you'll have everyone you would expect to have. They're a fun team to play with, that's for sure!

One of my buddies is actually gonna play and be asked to be Chicago. That's why earlier today I put "pending new member" next to it. Ill give him a week to make a CAG account and if he doesn't than u can be CHI.

I do have to say... Being a Wings fan, you have some shit taste in teams.
Hell if they have shit taste in teams what does that say about me? I'm a Blues fan and as far as I see they are the Cubs of hockey. LOL

I don't know... Hitch is going to do some good things in St. Louis if we ever see hockey again.

Well he did get them to round two of the finals. We get hockey again I see them winning the west and getting to play for the cup some time in the next 5 years.

Let's not get carried away now... I think the two major issues they are going to have are discipline (they hurt themselves with dumb penalties way too much) and keeping Halak and Elliott happy. A big reason for last year's success was the way both of them played. Unfortunately I find it very unlikely that both of them will stay.

I think they are going to run more of Halak than Elliott in the next season. I'm also not saying they will win the cup or do well playing for it. I'm thinking they will barely get there and chances are be swept.

See I personally think the hardest part for them is just making it out of the Division. That will be the case for Detroit, Nashville, Chicago, and St. Louis. Problem is, you make it out of that and a lot of times you are so physically drained that you either have nothing left for the playoffs or you have an adrenaline high and go all the way (Wings in 08 and 09, Hawks in 10). Last year is just an great example... All 4 make it, and all 4 are out by the end of the 2nd.

It's just so messed up how the Central and Atlantic divisions consistently have 4 teams (minus St. Louis in previous years) in the playoff hunt.

That division is easily the best in the league. And the Hitch factor worked last year VERY well. All the players bought into what their role was, but can these averge players remember their role, and can they bring the same thing they did last year. Not saying that team is not going to be tough, because they are going to be very tough but I don't know how long they will be able to sustain it. I see Detroit and Nashville taking a small step back, and Columbus staying the same. The biggest movers will be Chicago (Pending they play as a team and they get the goaltending)

Yea I think Nashville is going to be down a little when we start playing. Detroit is going to be a toss up... If we get to playing a short 50 game season, I think that may help them. The one thing that a lot of people don't realize is that Detroit has some damn good depth and young guys coming up. Between Nyquist and Smith, they have two future leaders at forward and defense. Our rookie goalie for the Griffins, Mrazek, has also been doing very good winning his first 6 starts. A short season is really going to help our older guys like Bertuzzi, Cleary, and Franzen.

a short season is going to help all the "older" teams for sure (Flames / Rangers / Kings - hangover). And don't get me wrong by saying the RedWings are going to take a step back, but I do think this is the year that they finally take the fall from the top spot they have held in that division for so long. All the "experts" have been taking this stance every year for the last decade but they keep doing what the Red Wings do. Thats the main reason they are one of the most storied franchises in the NHL.

Okay I have to step in here. Even if you only strictly use last year as the sample size, the total points for the Atlantic beat out the Central 501-481. The Atlantic consistently has four teams in the mix every year and the weakest of those four made it to the freakin' finals last year! Now don't get me wrong, the Central is clearly next but I cannot see St. Louis and Nashville competing year in and year out. Maybe Nashville.

I don't think people were expecting St. Louis to do as well as they did. I'm guessing that helped them some but they will definitely have to step their game up in the next season as I don't think they will be the underdog. I don't know why buy I don't see Nashville taking a step back like you think.

I'd be down to play. If Boston is still available, I'd like to be them. I'm free to play nights after 8pm. I live in the EST time zone. My gamertag is Mark331330 Anthony (ajh2298), is my dad.

Thanks,

Chris
