Yeah, I bought it anyway since this was a great discount. I have a Logitech F710 so I might use the Direct Input function for key-mapping. I might try with Xpadder.

Edit: I've just installed SR1 and as far as I can see, there's a gamepad config in the menu, so it might support it natively. Later I'll try with the gamepad, ran out of batteries lol

DirectInput should work just fine. I can't speak for SR2 directly (but GTA:VC & SA, & DMC3 I can), but most games with controller support that pre-date the 360 work great with DirectInput. With Xpadder you lose the advantage of dual analog sticks. DirectInput is a great advantage of the F310/F510/F710.

It's one of the few modern, non strictly online, mecha games

Same here,

So basically, everytime GG is 404, I "must" have missed a deal (or price mistake). :(

EDIT: back up but 35%, did the MSPR change?

EDIT2: Steam has it for $19.49 (same 35% off)

But is CHEAP! Can't...resist...game..on..sale

anyway, don't have enough blue coin to burn on the game AND don't want to spend real money on GG until they get their act together.

If it were that price on Steam (I know, I'm a Steam whore) for under $6 I'd put up with the ubi DRM, too.

I was just able to buy it so they must have fixed whatever error they had. I had been avoiding more recent ubi stuff due to their DRM but for $5.84 I hope I can deal with it.

So does Diablo 3 and MMO's.

I would be able to cope with that at such prices if it was the Assassin Creed series but, I've read UBI puts steam purchased games in a different "hedge" in uplay and you can't access certain stuff, so it's better to purchase them outside steam.

I highly regret I didn't purchase AC2 on time on Amazon, I would've been able to get Brotherhood for 2.50 making the total price for both 7.5.

3.25 a piece is a fair price to cope up with ubi's horrid way of doing business.

There's no separate "hedge" for UBI steam games.

MMOs: WELL DUH That's kind of what the O in MMO stands for.

Diablo has the excuse of the auction house and preventing cheating. I guess. It's flimsy but it's something I guess.

I have no flipping clue with Settlers needs to be always online though. To push status updates that your virtual settlers built a house on to Facebook?

Thanks for the heads up, $5.55 after 5% off is enough for me to bite. Now lets hope its not some big fiasco like the bethesda bundle lol

I know, I'm playing devil's advocate there.

Though, any games that you can say take AI/bots with you and finish all of it while going solo - yeah, it's not really necessary to force the MMO-aspect on it (Always online DRM factor).

I played D3 solo in my 1st run-through just fine WITHOUT any other players purposely and enjoyed it - especially w/ the new Lore audio mechanic and countless NPC audio banter.

Of course, it's also fun when playing w/ others, as well.

Any game you can play ALONE fine w/out others - it just doesn't need "Always online DRM". I think it's silly games like Settlers and D3 force "always online DRM". Same goes for upcoming SimCity reboot/remake, as well.

All that optional Facebook integration, online scoreboard stuff, online Achievements stuff - that should be active ONLY if you sign into an online account.

Settlers has been that price for at least a week or so now. The only way it's a price mistake is if their base price is wrong, because the discount isn't very large.

Nice to know, now all I gotta do is to wait for that personal sweet spot for the AC series.

Weird though, they moved all the AC games to one time activation with offline modes available, wonder why they didn't do the same with settlers.
