Signed up, got a spot in the other league and left before team selection. Don't really see the big deal personally.

we got past that quickly. lol i dont always get along with people but i move on since then hes never acted like that again and he ended up losing to me the next time as well we actually text eachother advice every now and then to.

Yeah, I thought of that too. I'm trying not to judge somebody based on one thing because God knows we've all had issues. But I also really don't want one more person that I have to explain "play right" to.

I was thinking about it last night, and I'm almost at the point with the "run the clock out" argument that I'd like to tell people to just rage quit if they're being disrespected. The problem there is that would require trusting people's judgment of what "disrespected" actually is. But I'd really love some concrete consequence for people acting like asshats to put an end to it once and for all. Having their opponent quit out and allowing them to play the CPU would be great. If that doesn't get people to play right, nothing would.

I'd pass on him personally

as am I. I think opening rage quitting is just going to lead to more problems since people will feel like they can quit out if they're not having a good game (I know you're saying it should only be allowed if you feel the opponent isnt running the clock out right, but I dont think other people will always abide by that)

Yeah I don't think rage quitting is the answer either.

im against it for sure it will become a he did this and no i didnt type situation with no proof at all. then u have to pick a side to believe then that will cause more problems and may lead to people rage quitting the league instead. plus opinions differ on wuts reasonable. like u said last night we have 2 very different types of extremes on both sides of this topic. plus im the type that hates when people start running the clock out in the 3rd quarter using the entire play clock for each play in the third with 5 minute quarters drives me insane. i know its a strategy but its just as annoying to as someone running up the score if the games going to go like that id rather the person just play the computer i dont play madden to sit around and wait either. i find it just as cheap. i know the response will be then stop them and that stops the clock. but either way its still an easy 2 minutes off clock even if u do stop them.

I don't mind if someone grinds the clock out on me. It's my job to stop them. Sure of rather us keep scoring but if that's what people wanna do then w/e

i just find it be cheap fourth quarter i understand but running out the clock the start of the 3rd quarter makes for a very unenjoyable game in my mind. 14 point lead becomes a huge lead if people play like that.

I said I'm "almost at the point". I just feel like we continuously see it because there's no real punishment. It becomes "Yeah...you shouldn't have done that.", "Oh, sorry. I won't do it again." And then the next person does something similar...and on and on we go. It gets old.

This is entirely wrong on so many levels. I don't know why in the hell we're discussing this again, but last I checked, you could force somebody to go 3 and out...and then it really doesn't matter if they want to chew the clock, now does it? You had 18 yards of total offense in your game against me. Do you think chewing the clock would have helped you? The only time it becomes an issue is with people who don't want to learn how to play defense and like having 55-47 scores.

Conversely, running up the score is not a "strategy". The person already has the game in hand and doesn't need to do anything else to secure a win. This is nowhere close to being in the same universe as ball control.

I really don't know why we're discussing this. This isn't a negotiation and I'm really tired of talking about it. If you can't tell, I'm in favor of much harsher consequences for anyone who disregards league policy. Enough is enough.

I think most of the things that come up are pretty trivial. Most of the time I just like to point at what they did so that the league knows I felt like something was a bit suspect. Usually I am fine with the game counting otherwise.

If you feel this stuff keeps happening start throwing out strikes more often, this is where your judgement is supposed to come into play as commissioner. Not trying to take a shot at you or anything. I think everything is getting blown out of proportion at this point.

That doesn't even begin to describe it. The Panthers have 47 players and -$3M cap space. Doom's brother destroyed that team.

I hate getting my games in so early...I have nothing to do for days in this league...

I don't disagree. But what is a "strike" really? And how many do you get? And what happens after you get that number? Even in the other league...how often is punishment doled out due to "strikes"? I realize, again, that's all stuff that really has to be decided by me. Weird to think that I've been too nice, lol. Guess it's time to start cracking down.

Open teams are listed in the OP...but yeah...rosters are not what you'd expect (other than the Chargers).

The Colts have Eli Manning instead of Andrew Luck, and traded Vontae Davis and Coby Fleener for Vernon Davis...who was since involved in a trade with Reggie Wayne for Michael Turner and Asante Samuel.

And as mentioned, the Panthers are a mess. Cam Newton and DeAngelo Williams were traded for Alex Smith, Frank Gore, among others. They only have 47 players...and are $3M over the salary cap limit. Without cutting big contracts and signing several cheap players, that team is basically broken.
