Anyone have an opinion on Penny Arcade or Nightfall? I'm into monsters so thinking bout burning some credit on Nightfall...
Penny Arcade is fun if you like Ascension or Dominion. In fact, it's kinda like Ascension and Dominion had a gamer lovechild.

Nightfall is good, but online play is a bit time consuming given the amount of chaining involved.

All Playdek apps are well made if that's a factor.

Gave Demons' Score a shot at $.99 and would not recommend it, even at that price. In under 30 mins I had beaten the included content and it was trying to get me to do IAP. Also, flying talking teddy bear, monsters spewing nonsense to out of sync lips, cliched plot... I'm fine with all that. But scantily clad girl speaking with strong male demon's voice creeps me the out. They really need an option to keep your female voice.

-Edit-
Played some more, and there is more content than I thought. Read a few posts down.

The Playdek games are not "collectible card games". Magic and Pokemon are collectible card games. Ascension, Nightfall, etc, are called "Deck Building" games. The difference is that in Magic you can buy additional cards that other people don't have access to, and you build your deck ahead of time and then play with it. In Ascension everyone starts with the exact same personal deck, and there is a main deck that everyone buys cards from as the game progresses to add to their own deck. You buy cards with "runes", which come from cards in your deck. I would recommend you try Ascension first. Certainly don't start with Nightfall. Nightfall is confusing. Ascension is pretty easy to pick up on and is a great game. I haven't tried Penny Arcade yet so can't comment. Fluxx is an entirely different sort of game. I don't really like Fluxx to much, but some do.

Puzzle Quest 2 is down to $1.99 for the weekend, appears to be as cheap as its ever been according to Appzapp.

Does anyone have an opinion on this game? I read about a glitch that results in a hint arrow always being shown, sounds like that could ruin the game.

Dungelot is going to drop to .99 before he submits the upcoming update, FYI. I think that's happening next week.

totally off topic, but might be on interest to some of you:
Ikaruga released outside Japan for Android today: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...untime.gg_1638 9$, but it's ikaruga. Runs great on my Nexus 7

related to iOS: Ascension is fantastic. If you like card/board games on ios get it and the 2 expansions.

.
I'm only a few hours in, but I freakin' love it. No real issues so far on my iPad2. Sunk a lot of time into PQ1 and plan on doing the same with this one.

Beat it on my iPad 1 as an assassin. The original PQ is better since you don't waste so much time with world navigation, but PQ2 is still a must get for match three fans. I had to disable the hint arrow every time I launched the app. A pita, but not a deal breaker.

Having to disable it every time is better than not being able to disable at all, which is what I had imagined. I'm going to give the free version a shot and then probably buy it, I like what I've seen on youtube. Thanks guys.

I'm gonna have to call foul on finishing all the content in under 30 minutes. Maybe you finished easy mode in 30 minutes, but normal and hard mode have additional stages and hard mode is a lot more difficult. It's a pretty decent value at $0.99, though the IAP isn't really worth it.

Totally agree about the voice thing though.

Has anyone played Slender Rising, and is it any good?

Can't tell exactly what type of game it is..point & click or what?

All I know is it looks creepy, and I'm all for that!

You're right. I thought I had finished the content when it first asked me for IAP, but you get to continue fighting bosses even if you can't unlock them. You are stuck playing the same two songs for non-boss levels since the levels leading to boss fights are based on your character. For $.99 it's not bad. The way they require IAP to unlock demons you have already defeated is horrible business, so I'm not giving them any more money.

I just stick with the original character. Her stats are lower, but it's better than man voice :/

Cool. Thanks for mentioning this. I'm a sucker for adventure games.

So dungelot dropped to $1. I investigated further, and the reviews say it's not sized for iPhone 5 despite the info saying it is? And they also say no retina? Can anyone confirm?

I thought about getting it for my newish ipAd mini, but it looks like more of an iPhone game.

Feedback is appreciated since several of you have been playing it.

Main menu wasn't iPhone 5 optimized, but when you get into the actual game it is. Can't tell about retina with pixely graphics.

Bought this a week ago and it is great. On the toucharcade forums the developer is very active and mentioned that in the next update he will add retina and a lot of new content. Highly suggest.

The actual game isn't really iPhone 5 either. It just has a dungeon-like border graphic to replace the top and bottom black bars, as opposed to utilizing the extra space for game content.

I want dungeon save feature the most.
