Captain America

It was just boring compared to Hulk, Thor, Spidey, etc

5/10

I just watched the new judge dredd movie and it was really good. I expected it to be bad but it was good.

I still wonder what happened with it in theaters. I know Dredd isn't the most popular comic character, but it bombed so badly.

Judge Dredd doesn't have much name recognition in the states. Some people remember the Stallone film, some people read a bit of the series back in the day... But most people either don't know or don't care. This film came out of left field. I don't think anybody really expected a second go with the series, but it's a great thing they did. Karl Urban will hopefully continue to get more roles here in the States, as I very much love what he has done (yes, even Doom..... Well, maybe not loved, but more along the lines of I can tolerate it slightly.)

With it's sudden release and smaller opening (2500 theaters, which is definitely a lot, but not as big as most of the big openers) and no real name star... It floundered a bit, despite great critical reception right away.

Anyway, I am glad to see it's doing so well and I am hoping that they will come back with all the talent attached--Garland, Travis, Urban... There is now a built-in audience who I have no doubt would fill the seats on opening night for a sequel.

Rocky IV. Had almost forgotten how cheesy that one is.

Such a good fight and that soundtrack. Best workout soundtrack ever. That speech at the end is just hilarious though.

Watched The Sessions. Both the wife and I loved it. Really amazing performances by everyone and it is a shock that the main guy (forget his name) did not get any major award nods.

Well, you can't go wrong with Bruce Lee (Enter The Dragon, Fist of Fury, Game of Death, The Chinese Connection) or the Jackie Chan (Wheels on Meals, Project A, Police Story 1 and 2, Drunken Master 1 and 2, etc. Chan is like the Buster Keaton of martial arts actors) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buster_Keaton

Obviously not surprising that it was good but I just saw silver lining last night and it was great. Deniro does not deserve best supporting actor though

They showed Cable Guy and Game of Death last night on TV. Jim Carrey was sure batsh- insane, though not as much as he is now I guess.

Game of Death was pretty terrible, and the only reason to watch it is because of the fights. Thankfully Mr. Lee filmed them before his death, but I am going to miss the parts where he does some actual acting. I find Way of the Dragon to be my favorite Bruce Lee movie.

Cable Guy is underrated and awesome. I remember seeing it in the theater and hating it. Boy I wanna slap my 17-year-old self.

Also saw The Last Stand.

I really liked it. I was worried because Johnny Knoxville was in it, but he was used sparingly to the point where I didn't at all mind he was in it and in fact enjoyed he was. He was part of one of the most memorable scenes after all.

Good action movie. Shame it bombed so badly.

I think Johnny Knoxville is the problem, they push him pretty hard in the promos.
