Given the fact that this is the first set of games and a lot of people seem to have games to play (myself included) I have signed an executive order to extend this deadline until early Saturday morning.

Rosters aren't updated for online leagues. Whatever rosters you start with are the ones you play with for the duration of the league.

Well that sucks. I wonder if he will some how make it in to be picked up or if he will be in for online now at all.

EDIT: I'm thinking I'm going to drop. Last season most the games that were against a CPU or the other player could not play I just simed. This season I thought I would try to play all of them. The issue is the sluggish controls and slow to respond players. I noticed it last season however thought nothing of it and really thought it was lag as I really noticed it against people I was playing. After playing season mode I noticed it was offline as well. I also noticed a pattern to it. The games that my players skate slow and just seem sluggish overall I'm going to lose. The games where they seem quick and move when they get the puck instead of standing there and the controls don't seem all that sluggish I win or have a better chance of winning. It may not be by much, but 9 out of 10 of them games I seem to win. When they play slow and the controls seem sluggish I lose every time in league or season mode.

I just played three games in the league and lost to Nashville and San Jose. Both games were slow paced on my side and the controls went to hell. Against Dallas right off the bat my players seems quick and the controls seemed to respond well. I knew then that I was going to win. Sure it was in OT and was 2-1 however I could tell just by how fast paste the game was going. Like I said earlier I have noticed this in season mode as well. The odd thing is in HUT mode all games seem the same. I have not sluggish controls and the players seem to play the way they should.

I think that is just a result of the game speed that we play at compared to online games. I've noticed that as well, if I just play a regular online game it seems like my players skate faster.

On a side note, Tirasenko looks pretty good in his debut here.

Yes he did. First 3 minutes of a game and scores then a power play in less than a minute in the second. I thought he would have got a hat trick. Sucks he wont be available for the league unless it is restarted.

I'm thinking about it. I'm starting to no longer give a shit when everything just feels so slow. I'm starting to think against the PC at least this game stacks the advantage no matter what to some teams. I'll keep playing till my hours change at work again then I will decide after that.

Good games with Boston (2x) and Pittsburgh last night. Two complete opposites against Boston, first game Price just didn't want to play the first period and a half. Then in the second one he only allowed one goal until late in the 3rd. I think it definitely helped that I got my best player (Plekanec) and a couple of third and fourth liners back for game 2. Still am definitely missing Rene Bourque.

So far, my team has been the exact opposite of last year in how I'm winning. Last year I was 40% or something close to it on Power Play and had a lot of short handed goals. This year I think I have 1 power play goal and 1 short handed goal. Not to mention Price has been pretty shitty so far.

Well, I'll definitely be buying NHL 14, lol. You know how I know (you're gay...wait, no that's not right)? The NHL's return to the ice has gotten me so amped up that I've sat here thinking "Man, I wish I had up to date rosters to do a season with. Hey, maybe I should re-buy..." and then I remember that I didn't even like the way NHL 13 played and ask myself what's wrong with me, lol. So, with next year's game having an actual hockey season to help build it up and boost sales, there's no way I won't buy it.

I just really hope they tweak it to play more like NHL 12, but with NHL 13's skating and poke check effectiveness. Though with the next Xbox coming out a couple months later, it's most likely going to be NHL 13 with a roster update. Which will probably also mean no changes to GM Connected either. Hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.

Sorry everyone, I've been pretty busy lately, just moved and started new job so my free time has been limited. Since people have games set up for Friday I will advance the league late Friday night. After this week we should be back to 5 day schedule blocks tho.

Has anyone played Winnipeg/IndoAssassin recently? I sent him a message on here a few days ago but haven't gotten any response yet. He hasn't been on Live when I've been on the last couple of days but I guess I'll send him a message through there as well.

I had to play against him last week, and had message him on here and on Live... I never heard back from him and ended up playing against the CPU before we advanced. At that point, he had not played a single game as his record was still 0-0-0.

I had one person I had to play last week and the rest were CPU. I never heard from the person and I don't even remember who it was. I just played 3 games and let the others be simulated. This week the only person that I know of that I have to play is Matt Young. I'm wondering if some are just not into the league anymore with the NHL back.

After only one person contacting me in some way about our game, the sluggish controls against some teams in GM Connected and in Season Mode along with the players feeling slow in the same modes. I'm done with the league. I think I'm even done with season mode. I'm not sure why, but I don't see them issues in HUT. So till an updated roster comes out I'm going to play HUT then I might try Season Mode again. I'm just tired of starting a game and 30 seconds into it knowing if I'm going to win or not. I just played against LA and knew the game would be a loss as to how the game was playing. Even after the bullshit goal that I some how got I knew I would not get another one and if I did Matt Young would some how get another 2 on top of it. I was right when I saw one go in as Halak was just sitting on his ass. Both Matt and I ended up getting two bullshit goals that should have never happened and only the one Matt scored should have went in. I think I will hold out on 14 to see what people are saying about it.

I was going to have to quit in the next few weeks anyway due to my new hours at work. This just caused me to quit sooner than I wanted to. I hope the rest of you have fun with the league.
