I've still got a few months left for my XBL subscription, but $35 is the right price for me. Definitely in for at least one, thanks OP.

The time transferred over, and was actually usable with either one (if I recall), but they did eventually shut down Live on the Xbox, so if you still had time left, your choice was to upgrade to 360 or lose it.

But nobody with extra time on Xbox Live when 360 rolled around got screwed out of that time by moving over.

That's what I thought. I need to get some Live so I might bite.

Why are people jumping on XBL $35/year if the $2 for 2 months ($12/year) is still working? Just for convenience?

That's for Silver isn't it?, and that's usually a one time thing.

Yeah, but all you have to do is let your Gold membership expire and you can take advantage of the deal the very same day. That's what I just did today.

And you can do it again after 2 months. Rinse and repeat.

I still have a couple of XBL cards from the recent BB deal and I'll not use them until this $2 deal is over.

Had no clue. Could stock up on 1 year cards, then keep doing the 2 for 2.

I am dreading the day that the 360 online content is taken down.
