Paragon and especially renegade were never a consistent worldview, moral stance, or anything. Trying to tie them in to the extremely morally questionable ending choices in any meaningful way is an impossible task.

I read and post here sometimes and I still haven't beaten the game. I know the endings and such, but none of the details.

If putting things in spoiler tags is daunting, then don't do it. The game has been out long enough and like it's been said, everybody knows the endings even if they haven't played it.
