I currently have installed 2 GeForce 9600 GT running SLI. I am looking to upgrade and spend around $120-$175. Does anyone know of any good deals out there?

I saw on craiglist for my area $80 for a EVGA GTX 550 TI 2 Gig is that good?

THanks

Use Newegg and Amazon to get a feel for the prices of different cards. Upgrading two cards for under even $200 is going to be difficult. When buying off Craigslist, make sure to confirm at the pick up that the card actually works because there will probably be some people selling burnt out cards.

A little over a year ago I got back into pc gaming I off a whim bought a 550 ti. Then I realized the 560ti was better but I was stuck. I spent some more money picking up a another and using them in sli. For me it does the job well. I can play most everything out there but looking back I think it is best to just spend a little extra and buy 1 powerful as current as you can get card out the gate and be set because if your looking to run 2 cards if they are cheap they are probably older cards.

Don't forget to make sure your power supply can handle the card or cards.

See what games you want to play. Some games get better framerates on AMD then Nvidia or vica versa.

Here's a better question: What are you using the graphics card for?

Give some example games.

In my opinion, it's good enough for those games and almost every other current game out there. I have a 660 ti that's a little better and I get decent performance and I plan on using that card for the next 3-4 years.

That card really can eat anything you throw at it.

If you are ready to drop the cash on it, I'd say go for it.

Your CPU will be a bottleneck for sure.

15% is a major decrease when it comes to electronics, just keep that in mind.

When I upgraded my system just over a year ago, the 6850 HD seemed to be the best bang for the buck. It also has pretty low power requirements, so you probably wouldn't need a new PSU. I can play WoW: MoP, BF3, and Far Cry 3 on a mix of med-high settings with about an average FPS of 45-50.

If your whole computer is weak, you might consider rebuilding and starting with an AMD A8/A10 APU (quad core CPU + GPU combo). Should be able to get good FPS on those games on medium settings, and can add a $80-100 video card later to run in dual mode and get great results. Look them up on Amazon, they are getting great reviews. If you can reuse a lot of your parts, you might be able to get going for under $300.

Both are good choices for a budget gaming PC but still perform well.

i dunno if u cld find one but the best value card out is 7870 club joker card which at stock beats 660gtx and it is an oc power house which can make the card better then 7950 for alot less money and can be used in crossfire with a 7900 series which makes it good if u feel like upgrading in the future in the uk the last time i saw one was going for 180£ but i wld think tht wld be a round 200£ in the state

I just remembered this. If you happen to buy a nvidia card, keep on one your old video cards in the system and have it run as your physx card in games that support it. Takes the work load off your main video card and gives you some nice visuals.
