In case anyone is interested, to prevent myself from getting roofied by EA and somehow re-buying NHL 13, I've been manually updating the rosters for NHL 12. I know that usually saves can't be transferred across gamertags, but I read something on a forum which claims that you CAN reassign a profile to a save, but it just prevents you from getting achievements (link below). I doubt that would be a concern for anyone here, so if you guys want, I can upload the roster file when I finish it. I'm sure it won't be perfect (mostly worried about NHL rosters...don't really care about a player moving from AHL team A to AHL team B).

Nice. So, anybody up for a few tonight?
Edit: Hopefully Conacher is in the update. |

As for the roster, I'll probably add a few standout rookies. But I'm not going to go nuts with it. I really just wanted a fairly accurate roster that I could do a "Be A GM" season or two with (I had hoped that you could use custom rosters for leagues, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it). Honestly, if you think about it, it's kind of sad. Even for people who have NHL 13, they can't do a real season because the schedule is wrong. EDIT - Just got to TB, and it looks like Conacher was already in the game. He was on Norfolk that year (BTW...it's really confusing that Anaheim and Tampa Bay swapped AHL teams this year. I'm leaving them as they were though so the player affiliations don't get screwed up). Now, how much stat adjusting I feel like doing (if any) is another question. I feel like that could snowball really fast, lol. Last edited by n8rockerasu; 01-24-2013 at 09:48 PM.. |

All right, I think I've got my rosters as "done" as they're going to be. I did add/update some rookies who made their NHL roster. I created two players who weren't in the game at all (Tarasenko and Cervenka). And I was able to use a roster trick to be able to move some of the Junior players who were in the game (Yukapov, Dumba, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko), but were underage, and therefore, not eligible to be traded to any team outside of the CHL. Then, I updated stats on a few prospects who were able to be moved to their NHL club (Kreider, Scheifele, Rakell, Huberdeau, Granlund, Hamilton, Silfverberg, Brunner, Schwartz, Kincaid) using a roster edit site that I found.
I moved the save to a thumb drive, and I'm going to just compress the entire "Xbox 360" folder that shows up on the drive (the NHL roster save is the only thing on it...but of course Microsoft has to put all their system files and proprietary shit on there) into a .rar file so it won't take so long to upload/download. I'm hoping that if you guys move it to a blank thumb drive, your 360 will recognize the file, and then you can just assign it to your gamertag like I was talking about last night. If that doesn't work, there are "other methods" that can be used to import a save. They're just a bit more involved. Anyway, as soon as this finishes compressing and I get it uploaded, I'll post a link. Then I can actually go back to playing NHL 12 again, haha. Last edited by n8rockerasu; 01-25-2013 at 09:45 PM.. |

All right, I tested out my rosters under my wife's gamertag on our other Xbox and it worked exactly as I expected it to. This is basically how it should work. It's really not this complicated. I just wanted to explain everything in detail so there's no confusion.
Step 1. Download NHL 12 2013 Roster Step 2. Uncompress downloaded file with Winrar or other "unzipper" program. You should see a folder labeled "Xbox 360" in it. Put that on your desktop. Step 3. Take a USB thumb drive at least 1 GB in size, put it in your Xbox 360 and configure/format it. I formatted my 2GB drive to the smallest size the 360 would allow (which I think is 256MB). This step shouldn't really matter though. I just want people to be sure their thumb drive is readable by the 360. Step 4. Put configured/formatted drive in your PC and view its contents. The only thing on it SHOULD be a folder labeled "Xbox 360". Delete this folder and copy/paste the "Xbox 360" folder that you downloaded. Step 5. Put USB thumb drive back into your Xbox 360 and navigate to System Settings -> Storage, and then select the thumb drive. In the "Games and Apps" section, the only thing you should have is NHL 12. Go into the NHL 12 folder and you should see a save titled "2013 roster". Press "A" and high "Copy". When you do this, you should see a notice below that says if you copy it you will become the new owner and you won't be able to get achievements while using the file. Big deal. Copy the file to your hard drive/cloud storage/etc. Step 6. Load up NHL 12 and load the "2013 roster" file. Mine loads automatically when I boot up the game, but just to be sure it worked, just do that. When you look at the rosters, you should see a lot of differences. The first team it shows is Anaheim. If you see "V Fasth" at the bottom of your screen, you have achieved great success! Step 7. Make me a sandwich. |
