Im lovin Gridlee, already added 50 games working excellent. None of the midway games like Mortal Kombat, Nba Jam, Primal Rage, etc will work properly tho but a good portion of games from that era work amazing, look great and seem to have a higher framerate than they ever did. And some arcade games that have app store game counterparts work well too... like DoDonPachi and Metal Slug. I have a good portion of some of my favorite fighters working well like Garou mark of the wolves, last blade, marvel vs capcom.. as well as super puzzle fighter. This is what i was hoping the MAME app was going to support but barely supported anything like this before. Also to note if you dont have an iphone 5, dont even try to play street fighter 3 or any other CPS3 games.

Got a couple Gridlee games to work -- Crystal Castles and Rygar. Meh. Neat to see, not so neat to play. I tend to not shit on virtual d-pads, but even on my iPad it's an issue. I got a Neo-Geo BIOS and some Neo-Geo games, but can't get them to cooperate. Tried zipping the BIOS in with the game ROMS. No dice.

I downloaded Shufflepuck Cantina a while back, but only played it last night. I REALLY like it. It's a slick looking/sounding one-on-one air hockey game set in an outer space bar. It's based on Shufflepuck Cafe, a Mac game old enough to only be in black-and-white.
It's FREE.
There are IAPs, but they aren't necessary -- though I bought the money doubler thing for $1.99, in part to support the developer.

I want them, but I have Dawn of Souls on the GBA so I don't think I should get them.

They translate FF1 into Indonesian, but there's still no Spanish translation? /facepalm lol way more people in the world speak Spanish and Spanish is far more important than Indonesian (no offense)

Everything you put in the roms folder needs to be zipped. The bios zip just needs to go in the roms folder as if its a rom itself. If the games still dont work it means the romset for the roms you are getting are not the correct romset you need. Try finding another place to get your roms, usually torrents have a large torrent of them in a pack. I would suggest looking up roms for MAME 0.139u1 which is what the mame gridlee uses. I got my neo geo games to work like a charm but I have the correct romset. When i was getting them from random sites, they werent working but i forgot a few months ago i downloaded almost 70gb of roms to use to update my arcade cabinet. I started using those and every one ive tried works unless needing a specific bios file that i forgot to add.

So you have Neo Geo games working with Gridlee? I also tried and it didn't work, although I only tried the one version I had and I'm not sure what version it was for.

I got pretty much every neo geo game to work and every capcom game as well as others. You will need to update your romset by downloading from another source. I recommend looking for romsets as bundles in torrents. The standard sites ive gone to for roms dont seem to have the right roms from the right romset that ios mame runs on. To clarify you need to find roms from MAME 0.139.

This is a very good game if you enjoy critical thinking/pattern matching. If you enjoy things like Sudoku, get this game.

those shouldn't be tempting me as much as they are, but they don't go on sale very often. I don't even like Final Fantasy. ugh.

^^^Then you'll hate FF II, ssj3pikachu. It's the worst FF, in my opinion.
For $2.99, you can get Penny Arcade: Rain-Slick Precipice 3, which is a clever and fun RPG.

I looked at the screenshots and it looked like a game I would cry if I had to play. But that's probably because I do critical thinking / pattern matching as my job.

Yea, the FFI and II are tempting me because I like having them. 1 was slow and 2 was meh. 3 is where things picked up and began the snowball effect until you hit FFVII. After that I didn't care for VIII or IX, but I enjoyed X (not X-2).

But since they aren't iPad optimized, well, that kinda helps the decision. I hate 2x mode.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, the complete episode set for symphonica is also on sale for $9 until 3rd February. The free episodes are quite fun, I'm still thinking whether to get it now or wait for further price drop in the future.

If you like classical music and rhythm games, it's worth a try.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually was considering them since I liked Penny Arcade RSP3, but general consensus seems to be they're not the best or most optimized as far as iOS goes. I'm probably better off sticking with PA, then.
