First time I watched it and many subsequent times after that I was sorely disappointed. Mainly because I wanted to see Rocky in the ring again. But each time I watched it it got better, and now I really enjoy it for the whole family story line and for how it showed the business side of boxing. Sure, it's stuff we already knew about but it was well done.

Flight - Pretty good. I liked how it ended.

I was slightly disappointed, but I had big expectations. I also have forgotten a lot about it and need to watch it again. It was very good and adapted well to a new generation while staying true to the old fans. I remember being disappointed that his son is barely involved in the movie and that other key Rocky characters are missing, like Adrian. Sorta the opposite of Rocky 5.

You saw it? How was the film? I've been looking forward to it for a while now.

Wrath of the Titans was not as bad as I was expecting. The plot is throwaway, but the creature design and visuals are awesome. Oddly, the movie didn't really drag for me either.

Batman : Year One - Pretty good. I still need to buy the book but whatever, it was on Netflix.

I'm planning to see it. Looks enjoyable.

Too bad it's bombing. First Arnold and now Stallone. Guess people aren't interested in them anymore unless they're in The Expendables. Sad day.

Goon - Really great film. Never thought I would enjoy Sean William Scott in a movie, but he did a fantastic job.

Ted was like a love action episode of Family Guy but dirtier with a little bit of actual heart. Worth a watch.

I thought it was a load of crap, I laughed (possibly chuckled) no more than three times.

Beasts of the Southern Wild.

I was pretty overwhelmed. A decent flick, but way overhyped.

Kinda late to this party but...

This is also what does it for me. This is Rocky in the dumps like in the first movie. Every other movie has him being ok for the most part, even in Balboa. The acting was atrocious and unfortunately a movie of the time with all the hippity hop of the climax and cynicism. Honestly, I'd say that it had a much more compelling story than Balboa and the only difference is slightly better acting and much better composition of the scenes. Having a more intimate orchestral score really helps with Adrian's Theme and Mickey's Theme to sell the gravitas of the more emotional parts with Rocky reminiscing in the beginning, talking to Paulie in the alley, and a couple other scenes I forget at the moment. Most people loved his speech when he was lecturing his son about life hitting hard, but I thought it was hokey as all hell. Rocky Balboa captured some of the atmosphere of the original Rocky, but was missing some of what made it special. It was an ok way to end the series, but stopped a little short of recapturing the magic.
