Because they're in highschool. All my friends were like this. Buy a console, get the shooters and the sports games everyone's playing, play em for like 2 years and get tired of the repetitive bullshit of those genres, and sell em. Like KtMack said, a lot of people buy video game consoles to play just sports games.

Way back when I played little league baseball, my friend on the team had a PlayStation and the only games he had were multiple years of baseball and football, and Gran Turismo.

Also, I can't tell you how many Xbox consoles and PS2 memory cards I've picked up that had nothing but sports saves on them.

its true i've known people like that. i really dont get the joy of playing exclusively sports games. yes i do enjoy sports games sometimes but still there are so many other games out there. and until consoles starting packing massive harddrives sports games used to eat whol memory cards.
