The last time Target did this was around the launch of NSMB 2 for the 3DS. It was for a $15 GC instead of $10 though.

Yeah, that was a part of the MSRP listings that I omitted. Now that you mention it though, Brain Age was listed for $39.99 when Amazon and others have it for $29.99 (Fry’s had a pre-order for $24.99 as well). I was pretty sure that $29.99 was the MSRP.

Confusing deal

So you get a nine dollar gift card with any game purchase not bad if you want aliens Tuesday and have a red card

Ugh i hate when we have these gift card kind of things. Customers are idiots and dont read all of it. They just read the "get a $10 giftcard". The way these kind of deals work is that in order for u to GET the $10 gift card u have to buy a game $39.99 AND reserve another game for $1. I guess if u are really that desperate for a stupid $10 giftcard then u can just not end up picking the pre-ordered game up.

It is as simple as that. The $1 does not go towards whatever game you pre-ordered but you do get a $5 target GC when you pick up the game. You lose the $1 if you don't pickup or pickup the game either way.

Not bad, I'm getting Aliens anyways so I'll just get the card tomorrow and pick it up and Dead Space 3 with $15 in and 5% off for using the red card.

Ooooh...now might be a great time to pick up a 3DS XL at Target when I get my tax return sometime next week. Then I can use the $25 GC on Fire Emblem...if they are stocking it. Then I can reserve a game for $1 dollar down while buying Fire Emblem and get a $10 GC in exchange. WOW! Nice savings all around.

Tempted to buy the New Sly Cooper to play on my PS3 and Vita. 5% off and basically $9 GC after paying for the $1 pre-order I won't pick up.

Not as good of a deal as the $20 reward certs from BB, but still not too bad considering Target has other home type products.

Don't forget you get an additional $5 on pick up of the reserved title.

Say I bought a XL and fire emblem at the same time and preordered luigi's mansion. Would I get $35 in gift cards then?

Yep I was planning on doing this as well. Use my red card and also some shopkicks. But then I gotta beat Sly 3!
