Yes.

I’d have no problem spending $35 at Target but if you want to make Fire Emblem cheaper up front I’d do this:

Buy the 3DS XL, get your $25 gift card.
On a second transaction, buy Fire Emblem + $1 Game Reserve using that $25 gift card you just got. You’ll then get a $10 gift card after paying $16.

If you’re like me though and spend money at Target you can just do this one transaction and get a $25 and $10 gift card.

I want a 3DS XL and I'll eat the $200 so I can get the gift card. I'll use the card for something else, maybe Aliens or something.

Do I need to have a certain card to pre-order a game I want. I checked out one of my local Targets tonight and it was slim pickings. No Monster Hunter 3, Wonderful 101, Etrian Odyssey IV, or Pokemon X/Y.

Just got my tax return and I was thinking the same thing. Checked the Target website and most stores are out of stock on Fire Emblem though. Anyone know when it says "out of stock" does that mean zero copies or just 1 or 2 are actually in-store similar to Best Buy's system?

Out of stock is out of stock in Target's system. If they are low on stock it will say limited quantity available

No. I was successful this morning with a Gears of War Judgment preorder card.
Glad I went shortly after Target opened. The stack of 12 Fire Emblems from Tuesday was down to only 3 this morning.
If you want FEA from Target, I'd suggest going sooner rather than later.

Does best buy match deals with gift cards? Would I be able to buy 3DS XL there?

seems like a good deal for fire emblem awakening
seems like the least likely to go down in price of new releases

They won't give you the gift card, but they will take $25 off the $199 price.

I just got Mario Kart 7 for 16 dollars at Target. It was on the regular shelf. The clerk said it was a system price error so probably YMMY.

Was hoping to find a copy of fire emblem but doesn't look to be any in stock near me, hopefully they restock before the week is up.

If any if your local targets are fortunate enough to still have the MK7 XL bundle the $25 gift card applies to it as well. Now to see if the wife will let me pick up my b-day present a bit early.

Jesus these deals are getting more cryptic and ritualistic by the day

Got lucky and my local Target got 1 Fire Emblem today in their shipment, called and ask politely for them to put it on hold for me and the nice lady on the phone did! Combined with my 5% redcard and a shopkick gift card for a damn good deal. Thanks for posting OP!

For those looking for a copy of fire emblem download the target app - it helps quite a bit.

Might use my gift card with some more shopkicks on sly cooper before the week is over and get another $10 gift card.

Question: Would this deal combine if I price matched the game? If I could get Black Ops 2 for $45 (price it will be this week at GameStop) plus the $10 gift card then that would be a good deal.
