Eh, people need to worry less about regional stuff. If Steam/Amazon/Pizza Hut start banning accounts for it left and right, then bitch about it, I say.

Yep, we're getting it, not sure about upcoming deals but I will definitely be pitching it.

Also, it sounds like we'll probably get Rise of Nations and Legends before Steam Amalur, but its looking good, I had another positive email exchange today, woohoo!

Cheers,
Tony

Great to hear the news about them
By the way, about amalur getting to amazon, is it looking more like months away from now, or weeks?

With the 15/15 will there be a normal discount on pre order as well?. To be honest id rather have a healthy discount on the pre order price then get a credit, which i may or may not end up being used (ie games from same publisher i might either already have or just nothing i want - good chance). But it does sound interesting for those who might be in for it...

Honestly I'm not sure. I don't have any sort of feel for what the process is going to look like for this.

Cheers,
Tony

@Tony,

I agree, $15 for just hitting the pre-purchase button will be abused no matter how one looks at it. Now, I do think the idea of testing this in indie games such as the recently released "The Cave" or others could work better.

Also, why don't you implement something similar to GMG. Then say: OK choose: a-) $25 off the purchase price now or b-) get $30 after release date (or $30 and $35 ). Also, my concern is for how long would this credit be valid. I hope it last more than 1 month.

Finally, have you considering stacking credits to promote more preorders as in:

a-) $25 off the purchase price now or b-) get $30 after release date .Then IF I take option B, once the game is about to get released you offer something like Get $5 extra credit on your next preorder if you do it during the next 7 days or before game x is released, or something among those lines.

@ Tony
Seriously Don't Do that. If u giving away 15$ upfront , u need start Charging for the Pre-order. IF not News is gonna spread like wildfire. Its gonna Abused oneway or another. So dont do that. Mark my words.

Really looking forward to any deal you get on Brutal Legend. I'll be looking to pick it up ASAP on the first best deal.

I agree with those things. First, don't leave an inch open for abuse.

Second, with the duration of how long the promotional credit is good for; I stopped preordering physical games from Amazon and day 1 buying from KMart back in the day because I didn't want to be shoe-horned into buying something more expensive that I normally would to use the credit. Just the possibility of completely losing or basically getting no benefit from the early buy/preorder made me just wait for a real price drop or real gift card offer.

Sounds like a pretty awesome pre-order double-bonus.
Although I'm not interested in Bioshock (at least, not until I play through 1 + 2, which I still have sitting in Steam.)
So hopefully it'll apply to another pre-order or something.
I love how amazon is willing to try new things though. Such a crazy company though, I don't know how they make any money. :P (not my job to worry about 'that'. My job is just to buy as many things as possible from them as I can afford... )

$10 code for software. I might grab a cheap language tutor program for the heck of it.
