Once scored a Turbo Duo for $5 at a thrift store. Still works! Although it has the dreaded low sound issue.

This shit just sickens me. Goodwill is a NON PROFIT CHARITY, they receive tax money, and their directors take home six figure paychecks. I understand the need to cover your overhead costs in running the retail stores, but if they are just going to hold back everything of even nominal value, why even bother running the stores? Just run donation centers, train the handicapped guys to take the donations, list the stuff that can be sold online, and then toss the trash in the dumpster.

Yeah, if you get something of value, you can jack the price up a bit, that's fine, but if you're just trying to squeeze every last penny you can out of it, why even waste your customers time by running a store?

I like to keep track of what I have and what I paid. Also my stuff is insured in case of fire or damage. I plan on posting it, but you guys will be sick of seeing the junk I buy. I'll try to stick to just videogame related stuff or exceptional finds. I buy like 6-20 items per day for resale/collecting.

What I found this week. Scooby was .49 so I picked it up immediately. My great dane just loves that thing but I'm pretty sure he'd destroy it . Time Commando was also .49, it's still covered in it's original shrink wrap but the previous owner made a slit in the top to get the game out. The box looked cool so I'll probably hold onto it for a while. That genesis controller Had been sitting at goodwill for at least 3 weeks now so I finally just got it for a buck.

Salvation Army had a console-only Gamecube for $9.99 yesterday. Not worth it to me, but somebody had bought it by the time I went back today. Other than that there hasn't been much there.

I saw 4 fat PS2s today at 3 Goodwills in my area. First one was priced at $15 with 2 memory cards, network adapter and power cord. I bought that one because my slim ps2 is on it's last legs and $15 is a good price if the system works and isn't a terrible situation if it doesn't. All the other ps2s had no cables or anything and were listed at 30 to 35 dollars.

Now let it sink in that whatever they sell in the stores is donated to them and they didn't have to pay for it.

Shopgoodwill also charges ridiculous shipping fees plus additional handling fees. Back in January I won a lot of ~15 CIB NES games. They charged $34 plus $6 handling to ship it! And when I received it they wer packed in a Large Flat Rate with one piece of bubble on bottom and one on top.

Frogger by ChuckT2012, on Flickr

Found this at an army surplus store in my hometown. Friend of mine told me they started selling odds and ends, and that it was worth a look. He was right. Six dollars, and it came with the game, instructions, and the Coleco battery adapter. Will look good on my gaming shelf.

Wonderful find! I haven't seen one of these in my area for at least 9 years in the thrifts, and that one had a damaged joystick among other things.

Got two things today.

El Viento (Genesis, CIB): 2.99
Genesis arcade stick: 4.99

Apparently El Viento is both great and a bit rare. Looking forward to it.

El Viento always reminds me of Nick Arcade and how terrible it was (the show not the game). The game would always appear as an option, but I don't ever remember it being picked.
