Now that the game is over I can. It was repeated curl routes the entire game. Repeated curl routes and an occasional run along the sidelines with Ray Rice. He was up big all game and kept throwing. Then just to be especially dickish he returns a kickoff when he's up 32 - 3 in the 4th with under 2 minutes left. You guys talk about the rules preventing the cheap play online, but what is the difference when you do curl routes and outside runs over and over again? I've said this before which might of led Mog to the success of it but I think the curl route is the cheapest play in madden. I can't complain about his defense it was good and I had 9 drops which didn't help.

I apologize for saying the guy is a piece of shit because that was uncalled for but I was pissed that some people act like they are better morally than ranked players and pull cheesey shit like that.

Dude u had the ball with 2:15 where u took knees. Then when u punted I didn't even catch the punt for everyone to kno and I ran curl routes because ur cb played 10 yards off so I took what was given

I saw u tried the curl route on a 3rd and long a couple of times but my cb was pressing so it didn't work

If you don't press your corners, people are going to run curl routes on you. If you give me 10 yards cushions, I will run that on you all day. Curl routes are the furthest thing in the world from cheap, since they take actual skill to pull off. It's a basic football route. Cheap is something that is impossible to defend using normal defensive tactics, and curl routes certainly are not that.

There's also nothing wrong with outside runs. They're very effective, but that's why people do them. Harder to stop, but not impossible.

As for running back the kickoff it would depend if he fielded it in the end zone or not. If so, I'd agree it's a bit much to bring it out up 30 points, but there's no rule against it.

If you want my honest opinion, the complaints you're making just sound like frustration because mog is good. There have been legitimate complaints about stuff he has done in the past, but I don't see anything untoward in what you're describing. This league is hard, and there are a lot of good players in it. It can take a long time to become competitive in it, you just need to stick with it.

Alright, I have no real problem with it then, though I always fair catch punts once the score gets out of hand only to minimize the risk of injury. That's just a personal preference though.

Sorry so you returned a punt for a TD with 2:20 seconds left when you were up 32-3. I don't really care, I lost and that's fine. The thing that bothers me is we say this league prevents cheap play, but if I don't press and get 10 curl routes thrown against me and if I do press then I get burnt because unlike the majority of teams in this league SD hasn't been able to stockpile superstar DBs. If I play pass defense then players use their 95+ speed running back to run along the sidelines as they send all their WRs deep.

Dude. You traded away your top 2 CBs almost instantaneously after you took over the team. I know you said they "didn't fit your style", but you have nobody to blame for your crappy cornerbacks but yourself.

Defense is hard. It's especially hard against guys who are very good on offense like mog. It sounds like you'd rather blame the plays he runs rather than trying to improve your own game. That's your prerogative.

Some plays are indeed cheap, and when players are running them they're justifiably called out for it. A curl route, probably the first route they teach in peewee football, is not one of them.

then what you can do is press let the cpu control the two safeties in the 2 man under and control the LB. You have to stop running the softer style of d sometimes you gave me the same look everytime except when you rushed one dline and put 10 in coverage btw is CHEESE!

So other than having someone playing man and dropping a LB in the purple to cover the curl what is the easy way to stop it? The way I explained causes a player to dedicate 4 players to the two WRs doing the curl route, how is that fair? It only seems fair to the users who have star DBs with 90+ press coverage.

The purple isn't even necessary. Competent cornerbacks can cover a curl on their own in anything but soft coverage. If you run press, your opponent won't even call curl routes.

If I have to dedicate 2 dbs to ever receiver doing a curl what else can I do but drop 8 into coverage? Oh or then I should press on Maclin and Smith who have 83 and 85 release ratings and 95 speed so they can burn me on the fly.

That's what safeties are for. Maybe we should go old school and outlaw the forward pass? I'm sorry for being glib about it, but you act like playing defense is supposed to be easy. It takes a lot of practice to be good at defense in Madden (much more than being good at offense I'd argue) and even if you are you're still going to get burned from time to time, that's just the nature of the game.

Practice makes perfect. You know how many times mog stomped me into the ground before I was able to beat him? A lot. Getting beaten by the better players in the league is what tells you what you need to work on.

Once again Nate Clements is garbage and the only way I could get rid of him and get something good in return was to trade Cromartie. I got three solid starters out of that deal.

Man there's just so much butthurt in this post it's hard to calculate. If you weren't already boosting your CB press, I don't know what to tell you. Mog did you a favor in that case.

You had perfectly competent cornerbacks, traded them away, and now you use Toler plus scrubs and complain about getting thrown on. Cry me a river.
